Where to find Nirnhoned items?

I keep looking for information on nirnhoned items and I just keep finding information on how to get the armor material, which I do not need atm. I've heard (from older sources) that it comes from the Craglorn main story, although I do not know where to start that. Any info about this? I'm on Ps4 so I'm on 1.6, anyone that can help? I don't want to zap all my cash just for one item to research.

You can gather nirn (potent or fortified) from nodes in upper craglorn and trade it to a crafter with a tip for a nirn item to research. OR...
You can go to Belkarth in Craglorn (vet one at least) and start the quest for the Stargazers (google the rest of the quest info) at the end you get one nirn item. I Have all nirn researched and did not once get a nirn item drop. Rather - I have grinded and grinded gathering nirn for months, traded other gear or set armors for a nirn item to research. Having lots of friends that craft helps (I do) as well as being in a good guild ( I am in 2 awesome casual guilds). good luck.

Acquiring Nirnhoned Gear can only be achieved via a quest reward or trading
The first quest will only become available once you hit veteran 1, and is acquired by speaking with the stargazer herald near their cart in your factions capital city (where you find your undaunted dungeon quests
The quests required to acquire your random piece of Nirnhoned gear are listed in the achievements under quests, those achievements are Celestial Investigator & Serpents and Secrets

Once you hit level 50/ v1, you get access to Craglorn. The quest for Craglorn starts in the capital city of your faction. For instance if you play in Aldmeri Dominion, the quest for craglorn is placed outside of Elden Root in Grahtwood, on a bridge.

If you follow your quest, it will lead you to the Star Gazers Observatory, which will then lead you to the rest of the main quests. Be aware that Craglorn is ment for grouping, it is not a solo area.
