Argonian architecture - before and now

I can't find any info on this - What happened to Argonian stone architecture? According to my logic there are several possibilities:
1. Something happened that made Argonians to stop building those stone structures.
2. They are making stone building only for religious objects, and for living and everyday thimgs those huts.
3. They are still being made and my question is invalid.
4. Something else I didn't think of yet.

I know that this may sound like a silly question, but it has bugged me for a while

There was an ancient and powerful Saxhleel civilization in the earliest days of Tamriel in which the Argonians built huge Xanmeer (stone pyramids) and wielded fearsome weapons that could wipe out rival or invading forces. For reasons yet unknown (to players and also lost to lore), an event the lizardfolk refer to as Duskfall brought about the end of that civilization, after which Argonians went back to a simpler level of technology and settlement patterns, using stone, leather, and wood for their weapons and armor and living mostly in small villages of mud and thatch huts.

In an ever changing moist environment it's just fitting they use mud huts to get more adaptability, moving even from place to place. Not to mention those stone structure I can easily imagine to melt in that terrible moist air, getting ruined by the vegetation and climate.

Just look at the Pyramids in South America (Which I believe are the basis for Argonian architecture). They're still standing after all those years in the wet, steamy, humid, rain forests! Stone is very good at weathering the elements!

    True.

Argonians seems to be inspired by a lot from South American cultures.
Even the flu. But in this TES world twas them making it, making others suffer from it and not the other way around.

Actually the imperial armies of the TES world trying to pacify Blackmarsh is pretty much akin to the conquistadors trying to claim a bit of bounty from the new world and her natives.

Well, it isn't known for sure where the Flu comes from. It is speculated to come from a disgruntled Argonian Shaman, but it isn't known for a fact. Black Marsh lore is very obscure.
