Side note: what is the "HS" in the thread title supposed to mean? The only thing I can think of for that is "high school" but that wouldn't seem to make any sense in context... I'm probably being really dense.

    Thought the same thing.

horse poo? only the one with s >:) probably

....never had such a painful leveling experience in an MMO

Then I doubt that you have played many of them.

agreed every mmo ive played there is normally some dungeon or spot that you run over and over for best xp... aka grinding haha its always been long and painful unless you turn zombymode and grind

I beg the differ. For a long time (eq 1) i think i never felt so bored with leveling as in eso. And if you do the same mistake as i did ( trying out "the feel" of other factions) there is nothing new for you. Want to try another class? Same routine. That is for me unacceptable in 2014 AAA mmo with that huge budget.

yeah but different classes have different pros and cons and gameplay is different. the quests are the same yes however I don't know anyone who listens to all the dialog during quests. and those that do normally listen to it only the first time. so what exact feel are you trying to attain?

Different pros and cons are obvious in group pve and pvp but running quests in pve zones feels practicly identical and yes - its boring as hell. If i could i would level in dungeons sadly finding any groups below vr 12 on dc eu is a chore - and for a reason. There is really no sense in running dungeons more than once besides getting keys from undauted. And i must say thats the first MMO i see this situation.

A friend of mine when I started playing said 'whatever you do, keep yourself 2 levels above content, and you'll thank me for it at the end', and I'm now at VR 12, with one gold zone left, and understand the advice. I made sure I put in a bit of grinding and dungeon runs here and there as I went through the vet ranks, and now should have less than a level to go once done with pve quests, which I can happily spend in Cyrodil delves, dailies, and a little grinding, without any of it becoming tedious

I'm trying to NOT level up to V1. Dont want the grind grind bit.One of mine is V4 and I got tired of it after that. I have two vets, and where they've been dumped(Glenumbra),it seems so dead.I dont know why this is.And I play all different hours.Sometime all night, sometimes day. It just feels empty. So,I am attempting a neew strategy.Level up intil L45,and then refuse to level any higher.XD Is this feasible?

The leveling pace is just right if you ask me. It takes quite a while, but it's not TOO long. It needs to feel like it takes a while in order to get that sense of accomplishment.

But, they are reducing the XP per VR from 1,000,000 to 850,000; so that's something.
