I have to say my hats off to anyone V14...heck hats off to anyone that is at V5 and plugging away....never had such a painful leveling experience in an MMO but have to say it it weren't for questing and that keeping it fun....delves, anchors etc....i'd have quit ages ago....i'm V7 only half way there....damn

I prefer it this way. The thought of hitting the level cap with no real way to progress besides champion points seems exorbitantly boring.

It's a bit of a shock at first compared to the 1-50 leveling, but it's not that bad to me. I actually like the fact that my gear stays useful for much longer.

And as @Enemy-of-Coldharbour mentioned, see my sig also.

Those are just my VR14's...lowest on my main account is VR6. So either I'm crazy, an altaholic, like the game, or all of the above.

Just enjoy the journey, especially on your first play-through, and don't worry about what your VR is. If you are enjoying the game, you will get to VR14 or soon to be VR16 all in due time.

    Just enjoy the ride :)

I have 4 chars vr14 now, and think I stop here actually.
My first one, I stopped around vr2 because I actually found it too hard. This is a year ago tho, and yes, stuff WAS hard, and I was leveling a tank and had no clue what i was doing.
I returned after a couple of month. Leveled up to vr10 and went to Craglorn, it was a real pain, could not find group for quests. When I finally (after days) got groups, I enjoyed it. Slowly I got to vr14 and started to getting know players and guilds.

2nd char vr14, I did all questings as well, no grinding. It was pain and I needed a lot of beers and music to keep character going. I did level up this for one single reason: Twice gold keys a day. Needed Valkyn Skoria badly.

3rd Character: Same insanity, all quests, carvels silver and gold.. I did this because I was so tired of end game content, I actually was solo questing as relaxing time for me. End game for me at that point was only for being social. I had all loot.

4th character was even more insane, I thought 3rd character went to vr14 too fast and I was still bored with end game, so yeah.. All quests again, until I reached gold zones, have to admit I was getting bored at questing then, so I grinded from that point.

Now I don't do ***. I farm upper crag, brainless, waiting for update.

I don't know exactly my point here, but I know vr14 is a long way to go yes. But once you get there, you will forget about the pain. Peoples brains are like that, we can't remember pain. Thats why women keep getting pregnant I quess.
My tip for you, try doing the best out of it, and have your 2nd bar with skills you need to level up. Its only needed to level up to the morph, then you can move on to next skill. There is also many social guilds out there that helps your day with some nice chatting.

If you personal don't find enjoyable at all, maybe grinding is the best. But I don't know much about grinding. I like to do all quests, sky shards, achievement, researches, you name it. :) Good luck.

I'm a VR11 on PS4 and while I don't mind leveling, I've ran into a brick wall on how to get the rest of the xp needed to take me to VR14 now that Cadwell's Gold is done. Craglorn is there to be done, but it really is damn near close to impossible to find a group for it on PS4, and I have also heard that the xp from mobs there have been nerfed to oblivion.

It's not so bad if you are a completionist and do not skip anything. I remember being VR3 and only just going to cold harbour....without even finishing mage, fighter, craglorn or main quests yet....then you have ds arena, daily silver/gold pledges, cadwells silver/gold and pvp...

I just don't think about leveling and just play the game, rest takes care of itself.

I'm both a completionist and an altaholic (16 characters total - the ones in my sig are only the ones on my main account), so it takes me a long time to get to max level, and I've only got 1 VR14 character.

Having said that, without any grinding I hit VR14 with a couple of zones left to go in Cadwell's Gold, and without having done any of Craglorn yet. My VR11 (almost VR12) is on pace to do the same thing, but I've done less Cyrodiil PVE and fewer group dungeons on him, so he'll likely have less of the Gold zones left than my VR14 did.

Side note: what is the "HS" in the thread title supposed to mean? The only thing I can think of for that is "high school" but that wouldn't seem to make any sense in context... I'm probably being really dense.

I've grinded a couple characters to v14 and it was pretty awful. However, with the console release I leveled up a new DK to play with some friends who had gotten the game. I might've grinded 1 or 2 VR's in total but the majority was spent in Cadwell's silver/gold, veteran dungeons and dailies. It was the first time I actually played the game how it was meant to be played and it was a breeze to level up. Obviously, it took longer than grinding but I really enjoyed it. Once I was ~VR7 I spent a lot of time in PvP trying to figure out my build and it really went by fast once I got into Cyrodiil and just played the game. My advice would be to quit rushing to end game. You have over a month until 1.7 comes out with all new content to help level up again. Just enjoy the game.

Grinding is terrible, probably the most tedious thing you will have to do in this game. I try to do it in just a few sessions. I'll put on a movie or show and mindlessly grind for 2-3 hours, and that'll get you around 3 vet levels. Do this a couple of times and you have yourself a v14 character.

I am enjoying the ride. I think you put it best just a shock in difference between 1-50 but am enjoying the questing in all the other zones and have taken a break to work on provisioning and farming mats doing delves i missed on way through. Keep second guessing my build but want to take one toon to VR14 at least before running another alt. I found in WOW successive alts always seem to go much faster

I'm in greenshade DC (silver) and currently vr5 (nearly 6), at this rate I should be vr12-13 when finishing gold.
Although come imperial city it's 15% less xp per vet level and silver and gold quests will give 50% more exp.

So by the end of silver most should be vr10 after patch

its really not that bad a few days ago (Monday) I was just hitting vr1 im almost vr 3 that's in-between my fulltime job and fiancé time so maybe at most 2-3 hrs a night im 3/4 till vr3 doesn't take long if you know how to level fast...

Edit: I love grinding I make a ton of money and get to catch up to my guild mates by the time they start trials hopefully

I'm the type of person to do absolutely everything in each zone before moving on, including the "starter" islands. I'm almost VR7 and have only just started Cadwell's Gold. I've noticed that I usually get 1 VR per zone with the exception of the small starter isles. So that'll most likely leave me a bit into VR12 at the end of Gold, possibly very close to VR13. While I don't mind the grind, there is some validity to his situation.

However, there's the next major patch approaching PC soon that'll lower VR from 1M per Rank to 850K, so this'll change my situation somewhat in the end. But they are adding 2 more VR levels, so I guess it doesn't change my situation much, lol.

I beg the differ. For a long time (eq 1) i think i never felt so bored with leveling as in eso. And if you do the same mistake as i did ( trying out "the feel" of other factions) there is nothing new for you. Want to try another class? Same routine. That is for me unacceptable in 2014 AAA mmo with that huge budget.

If you enjoy all three alliances equally, then Silver and Gold is fun.

But if you really don't like playing a certain alliance, getting through can be like pulling teeth. The best advice I have it to get through the Silver main storyline as fast as you can, discover all your Gold areas, then mix it up every day. One day challenge yourself with a Gold area higher than your level. The next day grab all the delves and dolmens from a lower-level Silver zone. Then go to Cyrodiil for a week if you want.

I think the more options you have open to you the less daunting it feels. It's still a climb, but you get to choose where you spend your vacation instead of seeing the same place over and over again.

yeah but different classes have different pros and cons and gameplay is different. the quests are the same yes however I don't know anyone who listens to all the dialog during quests. and those that do normally listen to it only the first time. so what exact feel are you trying to attain?

Because of this I've stopped playing silver on my vr5, with vr quests giving 50% more exp too, it means with a fresh silver/gold vr1 you should hot nearly VR16 by the end of them.

Long with xp scrolls/potions you'll be getting 100% more exp per quest! Should be a hell of alot quicker, in the meantime I'm getting 3 alts to 50 to get ready for the grind..
