Currently the Sorcerer's Liquid Lightning Ability Triggers The Mage Guild Passive 'Might of the Guild' granting the Empower Buff.

This is true, since they changed Might of the Guild to light up your arms I have noticed that my characters arms would light up when using Liquid Lightning also. This is already a thing on Live I would like to point out, I think if you have an addon keeping track of buffs you should see the buff pop up, there just isn't any visual indication of the buff.

I believe you. I just didn't recognize an increase in damage on my tooltips, so I closed this topic and thought, this got removed from lightning splash.

I shall try it again :)

I wonder if this is a remnant of beta when we had 6 classes and things got cannibalized into the 4 classes we have now.

The "arms lightning up" is indicative of a number of buffs. It happens with the undaunted light and medium sets, ravager and a champ passive to I think. With different colors for stam vs magicka

I don't think this is bug at this point... it's been there so long, it's just an undocumented feature.

It is definitely a bug and needs fixing. we're getting some 2 year old bugs fixed here, so why not this one.

I don't think it's a bug honestly, but if it is, it will be fixed after the PTS is over, since it is now extremely obvious that the skill gives you Empower as your arms start glowing when you cast it.

There are still bugs from beta.

Nowhere is mentioned in patchnotes or tooltip that this skill should grant Empower, so I consider it a bug and hope it gets fixed rather sooner than later.

Because that's exactly what PvE Sorcs need.... lower DPS! ;)

I have no idea why anybody would want this fixed..... hardly used/an issue in PvP.... and in PvE sorcs need more dps not less... even if you werent a sorc yourself, you may run dungeons with them, so surely would want them doing as much damage as possible.

    Ah ? Why ?
I don't see any boost for a magicka dps in the patch note, nor I see one after some test. But perhaps I have missing something.
I have just noticed a little less damage with burning proc, and concussive proc don't do a lot of damage.

    I had exactly the same feeling;
    As for Stamina something like:
    Molag Kena+Hunding/Sheer Venom+Agility

    Surge+ other Buffs
    2 overload light attack
    Wrecking blow spam

Both overload exploit and that was necessary to have a decent dps without overload spamming.

I'm all for bug fixes and like seeing them get taken care of, but does Eric's team still have plans on how to help sorcs at all? He teased us a few weeks back about some change that was still coming, and the list of goals from February hasn't really been addressed. Any word on those?

The "Empower" it procs is MotG.

As per another comment... how is that going to be the case?

I'm assuming you don't mean literally what you said... and that you think magicka sorc will be highest dps in the game.

The only real buff is 10% on our execute which isn't that big.

A few small limited moments of high dps... Molag Kena procc'ing on Overload perhaps.

Other than that I can't see anything in any of these patch notes which is going to take sorcs above DK's in PvE dps... or even above jabsy templars if i'm honest ( I really hope to be proved wrong).

What have you seen in the patch notes that I've missed? :*

Sorcs are only pulling the highest single target dps in fights where overload doesn't run out. In longer fights e.g. serpent DK still comes out on top. And with the new sets? Well, we'll just have to see about that

As @Dymence has said, Sorcs only pull top with Overload and even then it can still be close with DKs. As soon as our Overload is gone our DPS plummets.

Not sure about the new sets, maybe one or two sets will be viable from what I've seen but I don't think the meta will alter a whole lot.

Well whatever is the result of that it doesn't change the fact that bugs should get removed. Stamina was only able to compete against magicka because of the bugged armor penetration. Now it's fixed and they will drop hard compared to magicka builds. Would that justify to keep the armor penetration bug in the game? No. And same goes for this liquid lightning bug.

It's only a visual bug :) The only thing changing is the number in the tooltip, me and a friend of mine tested it 2 or 3 months ago. He wondered why many players, that week, were throwing random liquid lightnings before fighting. We discovered that the skill would have emulated the MotG passive, but without any real increased dmg.

I had the same idea, most sorcs are using entropy anyways so it makes little difference imo.

Now it would be great if Lightning Spash and/or its morphs would cause some addition effect, like minor spell penetration or something similar.

Nope, i tested it and I did indeed MORE damage when liquid is on the ground. It is not visual. you need Liquid Lightning tho, not the other morph. And you need Power overload iirc
