Here's a trick when you shop for unknown recipes from guild traders- just hold the down button and look if it says the words "RECIPE (PROVISIONING)" or "UNKNOWN RECIPE (PROVISIONING)". Even if you hold the button down and go through the lists real fast, you'll be able to notice the switch of words.

I thought about choosing the first option because if there is a recipe that my provisioner doesn't know, I loot it and they will learn it even if I don't plan on ever cooking that recipe. BUT, I don't go out of my way to acquire unlearned recipes and I'm content knowing I haven't learned every single recipe there is to learn. I see plenty of blue and purple recipes in guild stores my provisioner hasn't learned and I don't buy those either.

I do writs with all 8 slots but only 2 characters get all recipes. The others just get green recipes for the sake of leveling.

Only 4 of my characters are Prov level 50, and only 3 of those are vet. The others are getting all those low level recipes.

    Gotta have'em!

On a side note: Is there any easy way of seeing how many recipes you have atm? Other than straight counting.

And how many recipes are there? I have 264 now and it would be nice to know how many I'm still missing.

If your on the PC, there are addons that tell you. The total count is 486 currently, but 44 new ones are being added with IC

Do I WANT to collect all of the recipes? No.

Will I because of my OCD need to be a completionist? Yes.

When you guys go shopping for them, what's your price range?

200g for greens, 1k for blues?

Just started playing, so for me it is option "somewhat" at the moment, to be able to take care of the provisioning writs. However that will surely turn over to the obsession of having all recipes if I know myself well enough :)

I sell my extra greens for 25g and extra blues for 50g. Not sure if that's in line with others, however they always go pretty quickly.

To be honest, I won't buy a Green for more than 100 gold, and a blue for 200. Even if I don't know them on the one crafter I am trying to get to learn them all. As for Purples, I never buy them, that is why I do Writs. Fortunately I have a Purple for every level that Purples are offered for with foods, and most drinks. So, the extra purples are just that, extra ones.

Stay strong. You'll find it eventually. I had spent a week looking for the stormhold baked bananas recipe until i found it yesterday on my fifth guild store. Then i found the recipes for my next writ in the first store i went to. So it can get better.

For your current count I would go to the journal, achievements, crafts, then master of provision but that might stop/max at like 100 or so. Its been a while since I looked thru those.

Someone gave me the advice to skip that writ and start again and it will give you a different recipe to use.

Unfortunately, the counter stops when you get the Achievement.

My main is 50 in provisioning and has the recipe achievement, but I only purposely teach him and my secondaries tier 1 green so I can level them for the passives easier. My main is only missing radishes in rice from the set, which I now have the need to find even though he's already 50.

My provisioner knows every green and is just missing around 80 blue and purples, all sub tier 6. Most of these can be found in the guild stores, it's just a matter of not paying and arm and a leg for them. I don't use any add-ons, so when I go shopping, I write them down so I don't buy any duplicates. Someone posted a masterlist spreadsheet on the forum that I use to see what I'm missing.

Starting from level 1, 5, 10 ect. there are 3 green recipes per level, per attribute, (health, stamina, magicka), per type, (food/drink). Blue is similar per attibute combination, but starts at lvl 10. There is 1 purple per type for levels 20, 25, and 30. Starting with 35, there are 4 purples per type up to VR10. Knowing this, it's easy to know where to farm the gaps in my collection.

If I buy, I've currently capped myself at 500 for blue and 3000 for purple. I sell my duplicate green on a bell curve, 50 for tier1, upto 100 for tier 3, and down to the recommended 27 for tier 6. Unless it's one I recognize from a writ quest, then I double the price. Blues and purples are a little trickier. I sell all tier 1 blues for 200 flat. Beyond that I try to price them under the max I would pay for them, while also discounting the drink recipes. (I'm on PC NA btw.)

No price range here. I have probably spent close to a million just to get all recipes....

I still miss the Summerset Rainbow Pie recipe. I have spent hours looking through traders to find it, and I haven't yet.

dammit, that sucks. So, how do you count that many? individually, 20 a page times X number of pages, by category, or you just tally a mark on a sheet of paper every time you find one?

On the PC, use an addon (Sous Chef or Mobile Bank Manager).

On the consoles, copy the information on this page to a spreadsheet and tick them off as you learn them

There are some spreadsheets already made in the following thread

My provisioner is getting all the blue recipes until she knows them, but eventually I must have them all on all toons. Whenever possible I want to find them myself.

The most evil recipe of all is Banana Surprise. I've gotten the prov quest for this on two toons and none of my four active toons have found it, even after compulsively checking every guild store I pass over the course of weeks of active play. It's become an obsession.

I am actually wondering if the recipe has been removed but they forgot to remove the quest target.

I was one of the first ones I got, as a drop in something. So it's definitely still out there.
