Reusing Character Name Question On PC

Just made a couple of new characters to get ready for IC. I used two names I had used previously on some deleted characters. I skipped the prison and when my characters showed up there were a ton of messages of all guild message changes that had happened from the time I deleted the character to present. I have never seen this happen before. Do I need to not use previous names? Is anything else left behind from the previous character I need to worry about? Thanks!

One character had been deleted on 8/2 so this one had two guild message notifications of changes. The other character had been deleted on 7/1 so this one had four guild message notifications of changes.

    It's likely due to some SavedVariables not being cleared; when you delete a character, they are removed from the server, but all the settings for that character (which are stored locally, by character name) are kept, including I believe a timestamp of when that character last logged on. So keybinds, add-on settings, and anything else like that will be called up based on that character name, even though it's actually a different character.

    @Enodoc, Is this something I need to delete? If so where is this information stored as I have been through the files and don't see anything that jumps out as character specific? Both of these characters were vets when I deleted them. Just don't want any garbage hanging around that is going to cause me issues later on. :(

    I wouldn't say you need to, as residual settings aren't going to cause much harm, but if you want to, go into
    Documents > The Elder Scrolls Online > live[eu] > SavedVariables (or something like that)

    Each file in there has a bunch of settings set out by account name, then by character. I can't remember the exact layout, but (using my character names as an example) you should see parts of those files laid out something like this:
    ...
    <preamble>
    ...
              [@Enodoc]{
                        [Enodoc]{
                                  ...
                                  <settings>
                                  ...
                        }
                        [Melisi]{
                                  ...
                                  <settings>
                                  ...
                        }
                        [Nishani]{
                                  ...
                                  <settings>
                                  ...
                        }
              }
    ...

    To delete character-based settings, find the character name and delete everything included within the following bracketed section. Brackets are indented by level, so you should be able to quite easily identify each character section.
