When I first played this game around launch, I had no idea veteran zones were a thing. I created 4 characters of each class. My main and my 2nd character I was planning to play the most belong to my favorite faction, while my 3rd and 4th characters belong to the other two factions. Even when I realized that playing other factions really didn't matter because I'd get to experience all of the zones on the same character anyway, I was already decently leveled on all four characters and didn't feel like starting over. I then eventually quit and came back a few months ago. leveled up all four characters without giving an ounce of thought into this. Then on my main character I found an excellent guild that does alt dungeon runs all the time, and sometimes when I PvP with them I want to join with one of my other characters, but I cannot because they belong to different factions. It's a large guild so I'm sure many people have alts on other factions, but I don't think it is something that can be easily formed all the time, the guild is primarily one faction and that is what they are focused on.

Only now have I realized the excruciating remorse of making charcaters of different factions and not wanting to delete all the progress I've made and starting anew with new characters. Unless you don't mind having different faction guilds and only being able to run with your character of that respective faction with each guild, the game was designed so that it really benefits you more if you all play the same faction. So I'm curious how most people decided to play in regards to multiple characters and factions. Anyone in the same boat as me?

    I've got 3 in EP, 3 in AD, and 2 in DC. I have 8 different races, 2 Sorcerers, 2 DK, 3 NB, and a Templar. I've got a werewolf and a vampire (both rank 10) I don't really have a favorite, and none of them are bank alts since they're all VR3 or higher. Yes, I'm hopelessly addicted.

    No bank alts, 4 pact, 2 covenant and 2 dominion. Both "main" characters are in the pact, naturally... ;)
    And if I had known about cadwells silver/gold back when I made all my characters... I'd have been tempted to make them all pact... so I did some for the other factions as well. Eh, it had its good points as well...

    others created purely just to finish each side of the story.
    But since ZOS introduced Cadwell's Silver & Gold everything other than EP was deleted.
    Now running one faction, one race on all 4 classes.

    Assorted faction characters across two accounts. I neither guild nor PvP, and I have no plans to do the crossover Cadwell's quests with them at least until I have seen the whole of each faction's content with characters of that faction (and probably not at all). i have played steadily but slowly since launch on the PC and am still leveling the characters from 1-50. I'm hoping there will be other ways of advancing than Cadwell's by the time I get there.

    I'm spread across the factions. On my main account I've got 3 DC, 3 AD, and 2 EP. On my second account I've got 5 AD (mostly because my real life friends who play all rolled AD, so I created a bunch of different characters to play with them at different levels as they were leveling), 2 EP, and 1 DC.

    My main guild is a cross-faction guild, so no matter which alliance someone is in, odds are I've got a character I can hop on to group up with them.

    I played only one faction while on PC. I transferred them all to Xbox NA. Then when getting on to NA was slow and I found when I was there that I really hated crowds, I went to EU and made 8 more characters in the other factions. I truly dislike the whole Cadwell's Gold/Silver idea but don't know that I need to do it since I prefer exploring in a lazy and lackadaisical fashion so I don't progress very far. Thus, I could answer this question with votes on both sides. Where's my option?

    I'm leveling 3 different classes, using different weapons and they're all in a different alliance. I wouldn't be able to keep switching to play if they were all in the same alliance using the same stuff, it would bore me and burn me out on the game way too fast.

    It's probably ok to ignore me since I've only barely just started playing T_T (I started actually playing only a couple of days ago and I have only gotten 1 character - of the 3 I made - to lvl 5.)

    So my 3 favorite ES races were perfectly split among the factions (Argonian, Khajiit, and Orc). No other rationale for making them other than they were my favorite races to play in ES games, and it just so happens to work out that they each belong to the 3 factions. ^_^
