How to gain points on ESO Forums

Hi,

I am a very competitive person and even though i have played the game since launch i am starting to use the forum more frequently now. I can se that there is points to be gained but not how i get them. Can anyone please help me get on the leader boards here on the Forum?

Find a hotly debated topic, make a post or two in support of one side of the argument to farm agrees. A little while later make a post or two supporting the other side to farm the remaining agrees.

Post memes to farm awesomes.

Don't bother with insightfuls, too much typing.

"Points" are given to your posts by other forum users, if they voluntarily rate them to be either insightful, or awesome, or if they agree with your opinion. You can see the counts of each rating at the bottom of every post.

There is no such thing as a "leader board". These ratings are here to encourage a participation which is helpful and constructive for all involved in a discussion, and to curb behavior like single word/sentence replies which consist only of "I agree", "/sign", etc.

So if you want a higher score just for the sake of itself, you may find it difficult to achieve one. If, on the other hand, you go out of your way to help others with your knowledge and experience of the game, if you frequently and steadily involve yourself in friendly participation to help build and be part of a worthwhile community with as high a signal-to-noise-ratio as possible, the community will respond in kind.

The removal of the lol button makes people level up slower.

Before you could just be a smartass and claim something contraversial and wait for the lol's to pile up

It has gotten much harder since the dreaded lol nerf. Chances are a lot of people will never catch up with my awesomeness.Truly unfair but expected!!!

How can a new player possible dream to compete in this current unbalanced system?. Should they grind points in teh CWC thread all day for ages? The ZOS way. Messing up with new players since 2014!!!

I think you get points if someone quotes you and if you get a mention like this @DonDruid then more points.

Comment, open interesting threads, get replies, get "awesome"s or "insightful"s or "agree"s.

It's not brain surgery.

I think you may also lose points if you get censored, warned, spanked or your posts taken down, but I'm not sure of that.
