@ToRelax and as I said, I disagree to that statement. Streak will still uncover, stun & damage a cloaked NB in IC. The "mobs" in the sewers are no obstacle per se (except for those damn banner boss mobs, curse them to eternity!) and we're not talking about eleventyone mobs here. A single streak is enough - nightblade cloaks near you, streak in his direction, uncovered, stunned and probably dead. You have a 100% chance of hitting him.

As to the districts, from the limited experience I have there (PTS is just a test server and the meta will be different on live), this is more like the Arena gameplay than anything. It's all about "run in, fight, kill, die, run back in". With the size of the districts, I doubt this will change significantly. Cloak may be stronger than BE there, but I doubt it. The fast paced combat there favours both, cloak as defensive measure and BE as offensive measure.

Chasing any target, sorc or nightblade or anything else, will most probably get you killed anyways, since getting separated from your own force means that you are in between the enemy force. Yes, my impression is that the districts ARE this small.
Lol wut? This isn't 1.6 anymore, you won't kill anyone in 1 rotation. The NB will recover, apply heal & cloak again, and you're back to square one.

Not only that, if you're using streak as the opener to find the NB, congrats you just gave him free CC immunity w/ a 1.5 sec stun that is so short he doesn't need to CC break.

Ignore the NB troll - Leandor accuses everyone else of not knowing what they are talking about whilst indulging in precisely that behaviour... classic projection, and not worth your time.

    Guys, you are fantastic.

I'll bookmark this thread and revisit it in a couple months, it will be interesting to read. My bets still lie with ganking being a non isssue, since stealth in general will not work very good, no matter if nightblade with cloak or not. Maybe I'm wrong, time will tell. The hyperbole used by sorcerer doomsayers is still funny, though.

@Teargrants I did never speak of opener. I was answering to the claim that nightblades will rule supreme because of cloak, which is a mid-fight mechanic. Opening will be from stealth, but that as you said (and I never refuted) will be much less of an issue in IC with the damage debuff.

To that other guy: I did not say that it is exclusive to the cloak or indicate in any way that nightblades are going to be at a disadvantage over other classes. I merely said that cloak will not give you as much of an iWin functionality as you make it to be. I merely said that the existing counters will work much better in sewers since you don't need to guess correctly which way the cloaker went.

NB (in this case, Nota Bene, not nightblade): I said that stealth mechanics will be less useful in a constricted environment because the available counters are easier to target correctly. This is not a cloak issue, or a nightblade issue, it's a general observation. My experience from the few hours on PTS with a magicka DK as well as a sorc char made me usually laugh at the nightblade-from-stealth gank attempts.

Mainly because precisely the fact that @Teargrants has used to refute my statement: burst is so low that you can usually recover from a gank, at least if it's 1v1. Maybe I did not encounter any highly proficient nightblade gankers in the sewers, since I did exactly what I described: I retreated into one of the tunnels, gave the NB a couple seconds, either streaked or eruptioned the way they are forced to come (you know, restricted area) and each time they fell for it. I uncovered them and the usual thing happened if you manage to get a jump on a gankblade: they die.

I did not try a nightblade on PTS so far, and I doubt that I am good enough to make it work, but from an opponent point of view, they are toast.

Maybe it is my writing, for which I ask for leniency since English is not my native language. Or it is the fact that I do write too much and care too much for appropriate form which in turn makes people stop reading before they come to the case in point. I don't know. But that troll comment made me seriously laugh out loud.
