I run a full set of seducer and warlock. I never run out of magicka. It depends on how you want to play.

I want to get the most dps out of it as possible, so i guess never run out of magicka?

I've heard that the Arch-Mage set is one of the best sorc DPS sets, I use Seducers and Warlock as well and yes, you will never run out of magika unless all your gear is broke, and even then it is hard to.

5/5 set, ATM the character is only VR3 with 2 warlock rings, 1 warlock amulet, robes and cowl of the warlock, the rest is all crafted with seducer.

It's a shame the VR12 warlock rings are basically non existent as it would have been a great end-game setup.

They nerfed the crap out of the VR12 warlock ring drops from AA, if you are even lucky to find one selling it will probably be 500k gold, I myself have never seen one.

Yeah, ATM I have the Pristmatic Staff because it looks cool, for end game you could use a master staff along with the 5/5 set if you had the time and funds to get two warlock rings.

there are alot of choices... I really depends how you play and what you play (pve vs pvp)..

Here is a quick snippet of a guide i wrote over at my guide forums.. Keep in mind this is for players V12+
Prior to V12 crafted sets is really all you got and they are mostly mediocre.

A. Gear: [Daggers version recommended]
5 Necropotence set ( 5 Light armor)
3 Adroitness set ( 2 Light armor and 1 Necklace)
2 Cyrodils Light ( 2 rings)
2 Torug's Pact ( 2 Daggers/swords/axe/maces)

B. Gear: [Alternative choice for Daggers combo. CHEAPER and EASIER to get]
4 Piece Martial knowledge (4 light armor) or Burning Spellweave or Wise mage set, or 4 piece Twilights embrace
4 Piece Healers habit (2 rings, 1 neck, 1 Light armor)
4 Piece Twilights embrace or Magnus Gift (2 light armor and 2 Daggers)


A. Gear: (with staff)
5 Necropotence set ( 5 Light armor) or 5 Destruction Mastery set (*destruction staff ONLY*) or 5 Eyes of Mara Set (*Restoration staff ONLY)
2 Adroitness set ( 1 Light armor and 1 Necklace)
2 Cyrodils Light ( 2 rings)
2 Torug's Pact ( 1 Light armor and 1 Staff)

B. Gear:
5 Necropotence set ( 5 Light armor) or 5 Destruction Mastery set (*destruction staff ONLY*) or 5 Eyes of Mara Set (*Restoration staff ONLY)
4 Healers Habit ( 2 rings, 1 neck and 1 Light armor)
Torug's pact ( 2 Light armor, 1 Staff)


Or if you want something more flexible without locking yourself into a particular role..

4 Martial Knowledge set (4 light armor) or 4 piece Burning Spellweave set, or 4 piece Wise mage set, or 4 piece Twilights embrace
3 Adroitness set (1 Necklace and 2 Light armor)
2 Torugs pact (1 destruction/Restoration staff and 1 Light armor)
2 Cyrodiil's Light ( 2 rings )


PS* the list above are mainly for newly V12+ players, hence the list is "the best" combination while still remaining easily to moderately obtainable. There are some more rare sets out there that depends heavily on RNG to obtain, so they are not listed here.

If i use vr 1 warlock rings, but all others vr12. Doni still get the 5piece effect of VR 12 or doesn't count?

You have two options...

A regen build: As mentioned above... Seducer / warlock stuff... but if you use both then while you wont run out of magicka, your spells will hit like a wet lettuce & be very weak.

A spell power build: Stacking spell power on as much gear sets as you can..... High DPS, but you need to use things like cost reduction glyphs on jewellery so you dont go out of mana.

While levelling... at V1, use a combination of the two..... 4 piece Magnus gift (crafted) is great as it gives you a bit of everything (Max magicka, magicka regen, spell power). Warlock is good at V1 as well.

In fact... at V1 I'd go:

Rings & neck: warlock
Armor: 2x warlock (To make it up to a full 5 piece inc jewellery)
4x Magnus gift (see above)
weapon & 1 armor piece: Torugs pact.... for the spell power.

This will be a very strong combination of magicka regen & also includes a couple of spell power buffs too so will hit a lot harder than just a Seducer/Warlock combination.

For Veteran 1, I'd just go as I said with warlock/seducer with a 5/5, 2 warlock rings, amulet and 2 other warlock parts, the rings might be sorta pricy but the rest of the parts are very cheap, and craft the rest with seducer.

Most of the comperable/better sets are vr14/vr12 gated, so until then I'd keep them, or that is what I am doing at least.

It's not that bad... you can pick it up in guild store for around 5k for the rings these days if you look for a few mins... a lot less for the necklace, and the armor is peanuts.

Try looking around all the main guild trader hubs... you'll find a few.

Craglorn, Wayrest, Mournhold, Elden Root, Rawl'ka etc

EDIT: I'm talking from a PC / EU server viewpoint by the way... pretty easy to grab one here

At V6 I use;

5 Magnus
3 Seducer
3 Warlock

My gears all blue with blue enchants.

I'm soloing Anchors and public dungeons with no problems. Seems really good. Any other thoughts on using these sets together? Always looking to be better

In regards to the crafted sets... the problems with Magnus are the low proc rate of the 5 pc bonus and, with the 1.7 update, the Spell Damage stat is being nerfed by 30%.

Personally, for my VR2 Sorc I plan to go with 2x Magnus, 2x Willow's Path, and 4x Seducer; I'll be gaining 3x Max Magicka along with 2x Magicka Recovery.

Are we sure this won't be happening to higher end sets like Hunding's Rage? And what is the explanation for this substantial nerf? Tired of solo players? Sick of crafters and those meddlesome specialty forges? If that's the case, may as well go all in and raise every NPC stat by 500% and be done with it. No other adjustments necessary. But there will still be folks who solo anyway, and they get my sincere applause.

Wrath of the Imperium rings finally got buffed (on PTS), so you won't need to get ripped off for Light of Cyrodiil rings anymore.

My general purpose build for 2.1 will be:

2x Imperium (Rings)
2x Adroitness (Neck + Head)
2x Torug's (Legs + Staff)
5x Seducer (Chest, Waist, Hands, Feet, Shoulders)

Once you hit max VR level and have 300 CP, I can guarantee you won't need the old Seducer + Warlock combo anymore, assuming you invest points into Magicka regen and spell cost reduction.
