Ignored on Guild Roster

I'd like to see the developers add an indicator on the guild roster to show if a member is on my ignore list. I've had people invited to guild and I see one-sided conversations and have to find out who I'm ignoring. I'm not looking for addons. I'm looking for good old-fashioned ZOS programming. Tastes Great, Less Filling, and Goes Down Smooth. Let me know what you think (of the guild roster change, not the ZOS programming part).

We were all taught as kids in grade school how to ignore people that bully or annoy us.

Perhaps you should rely on this natural ignore mechanic more often instead?
    Criminal Scum:
    50 Breton Templar Healer: Olivine Azshara | 42 Orc Dragonknight Tank: Olivine Claremont | 50 Kahjiit Safe Cracker: Cracks-The-Safes | 50 Kahjiit Serial Killer: Cereal-The-Killer <Current Bounty: 1,231,318 gold>

Maybe you should suck it up and clean of your ignore roster every now and then. People end up on your list from an encounter that usually isn't repeated. Say that person had a bad day or they change habits. Plenty of the people I have argued with have ended up being fast acquaintances down the line instead. Most of the time you forget why you hated someone in the first place. Frankly ignoring isn't an instant win button and is the cowardly way to deal with others. You may end up shooting yourself in the foot when some of those ignored players are influential, have what you need or say PvP call outs

My thoughts on "ignoring" others in online games in a nutshell.

First off, I do clean my ignore roster periodically. That doesn't guarantee that the new member invited in the past week by another guildie isn't one still on it.

We have the ability to put notes on those individuals we ignore. I do this for every one of them. So I don't have to remember why I ignored them. I just read my note.

I've never considered ignoring as "instant win" and have never announced to an individual that I'm going to ignore him or her, and to use an epithet such as "cowardly" in reference to it indicates either a misunderstanding of its use or a misunderstanding of human nature. Or just a bit of indulgence in self-importance. The developers included the ability to ignore others so that we can more easily choose those who have an impact on our gaming experience. How each individual uses that is up to him or her, whether or not you agree or disagree.

To answer your last point: no player in this game is so "influential" that i "need" anything from him or her that I can't get either on my own, or from countless other players who have not behaved in offensive enough ways for me to put them on ignore. So it just doesn't apply.

In short, nothing in your response addressed anything having to do with the subject of my original post, so I'm not sure if you were just trolling for your own enjoyment, or just didn't have anything constructive to add to the discussion. Either way, at least I've given answers to your points. Thanks for reading.

That, and that really sad nightblade that keeps send their victims "creepy" PMs after they snuff you in Cyrodiil.

You're missing the point of my post. Regardless of your thoughts on my - or anyone else's - methods of ignoring others, there are people, such as myself, who use the game's built-in ignore feature for the purpose for which it was designed. You can like this, dislike this, agree or disagree with it. None of that matters. The ignore feature built into the game was designed to be used. And all the smug, self-righteous players who proudly puff themselves up and look down on others for doing so, stating "I never use the ignore feature!" or "I only ignore people such-and-such a way!" or "for such-and-such a reason!" are only using judgmental statements in ways to put themselves above others.

One thing: anything natural to us doesn't have to be taught. I appreciate your reading and responding to my post. Unfortunately, your response added nothing to the discussion. Thanks for reading.
