Automatic Smilies

no idea what others think of this:

Can we please remove the Automatic Smilie Generation for the forum text input panel. it is very annoying trying to use punctuation when the forum keeps trying to change My input to what It thinks is what i want. There is a smilie selection option in the editor if i really feel i cannot communicate effectively without using stupid smilies, please dont foist them on me!
