console text chat

theforgottenking1779
I was just wondering eso hasn't been out that long on console yet and people seem to be loosing faith in it since it has some problems like no text chat for example and no xp numbers or damage numbers that show my question is do you think eventually they will have to add all this stuff to the console version also for it to stay afloat for the next year or so on console or do you think that console will survive without these improvements jw

I suspect and hope that there will be a core community that keeps it going. There'll also be an influx of new blood when they run sales like this weekend. But console gamers have short attention spans. I seriously doubt the community will hold together as well as pc.

I know but that's what i'm interested in knowing what others think i know it won't be fact but usually when enough people have an idea of how the outcome of something will end it ends up being right people are a good judge of being able to predict things before they happen sometimes especially it enough people all think the same way usually the majority is correct

I see this as a slow race to max level. Once you hit max level (currently V14 - soon V16) it will just be about getting the best gear, and then I don't see many people mess around anymore unless they fix all these things.

I like the game a lot but it certainly have a lot of flaws that could to the console a bit of charm!

Yes it would be unfortunate if eso was to end just because some simple things wasn't implemented into the console version or even if these people decide to quit and it still does survive on pc either way the outcome is not good cause with the console user base the game could be even better then it would be then if it only survives on pc i just hope the development aint to dumb to realize this and give console version the attention it needs for pc and console users sakes

Well 1st off people should have know that console would not have and text char and 2nd PC and Mac dont have xp numbers or damage numbers other so why should console be any different from PC/Mac again those who movie there account from PC/Mac to console should not be so "surprise" and if you was in console beta you could have voice your concerns back then about no text chat and no xp numbers or damage numbers.

Beside this is old news this is not 1st post about this so why hit on old horse again so speak.

I am guilded with about 1500 people on Xbox over 5 guilds . None of them has ever mentioned text chat or damage numbers except 2 people that transferred from PC.

The biggest complaints I have heard are all about PVP bugs and lag.

Second biggest category is the really high prices on player sold stuff on Xbox (with some complaints about it being hard to sell high end stuff at all, or get Nirn gear made).

Groupfinder is third along with quality of people when it does work.

It should be fine in the long run.

I thought pc had addons that showed xp and damage numbers guess i was wrong on this but anyway i wasn't a beta tester or would have done like you said voiced my opinion and the only reason i'm wanting to know is because it's never to late to make adjustments to improve the game for people and by creating this post maybe it might shed some more light on this matter before it‘s maybe to late

The console version will never be as good as the PC version. It's just not possible. The PC has or will have everything the console has and more:
    • Controller support
    • Chat Box
    • Rebind Keys
    • Addons
    • Better Graphics
    • Connect to big TV
    • Portable (if on laptop)

There is just no competition. This isn't just ESO though, in general all gaming is superior on a PC.

Yeah i've also heard these complaints i really agree on the group finder needs a fix lol but i was mostly talking about the issues people have been talking about on the forums there is a large number that doesn't think eso will survive on console for that long without more features like pc has i'm kinda of one of those people also i'm just worried that people might get tired of getting treated like second class and go to another game besides eso i do not hope this happens i was a big fan of skyrim tbh i think it maybe have been the first eso game i ever played and i loved it and was really looking forward to eso when i knew it was coming-out so i want it to succeed i just hope it does at least on console

Honestly, I've been using voice chat in preference to text since EQ1 came out.

Console really is a different world, and things seem pretty good.

Having played Neverwinter on Xbox, the chat box was used mostly by PC transfers.

As for long term, DCU did better on PS systems than it did on PC and is still going strong.

If Zenimax can deliver content / bug fixes on a steady basis they will do great. That is the real make or break issue.

Yeah maybe the future of gaming all together is going to be on pc and home consoles will not exist anymore rip PlayStation 5 but the only reason alot of people prefer console gaming over pc gaming is because pc gaming can be very difficult for some and there is a big number of players who still use consoles it would be ashame if that majority leaves eso just cause they don't feel like it's very good on console yes it maybe impossible to make eso as good as it is on pc on console but there is also at least somethings they could do to make it better for console users and atleast show them they want them to stay and feel like they want us to actually play there game cause atm i know a large portion doesn't feel like they care about are experience we have on console

I am interested to see where ZoS takes the game given the personnel changes of late. So far there hasn't been much to communicate that anyone is really listening to what is the major problems for players now. Can't have longevity ignoring the issues that exist and features your customers want.

Those things aren't that important, well maybe the text chat is ... The rest is just filler and not needed for playing for fun, which is what the console version offers ...

PC seems to be too hard core, but go be honest I see the economy on the console crashing duebto over priced *** in the guild stores

Exactly dcuo tryed this to reduce the number of missions that was relevant for tier 7 to get marks from 2 only like a couple missions so they could force people to have to pay rl money for reply badges to play those few missions cause if not it took foreverto get marks to get gear they tryed this change on there own the community didn't like the change kept complaining and complaining that they make the other missions also relevant again to there cr so they could earn alot of marks again to get gear anyway the development seen the backlash they was receiveing so they had no other choice but to just give the community what they wanted lol plus there userbase was declining little by little samething will happen to eso eventually if they don't listen more to what the people want and actually decide to do something about it

Well seeing that PC is just as bad now as it was over a year ago I`m going with about the same shape its in now.

With the game being free to play and the only way they get a paycheck is by creating stuff for you to buy in the cash store, the majority of stuff will be directed at creating that next new shiny to get you to buy.

Because if you don`t but junk they don`t get paid and that House/car payment isn`t going to pay it`self.

For a platform people are "losing faith in," there sure seem to be a lot of people playing it. I'm in the vet areas on PS4 NA (Ebonheart Pact) and they're *way* more populated than their PC counterparts were when I transferred. As soon as a dolmen or world boss goes up, 5-10 players are there immediately to take it down. And this is in the last silver zone (VR5), mind you. The non-vet areas are downright PACKED.

Well I think it's doing good, considering all the sales it got on console. But the pc players are right, on pc there are a lot of things that the console version doesn't have, yet.

Built in voice chat that, in my experience so far, is more of a detriment to the game than a boon.

But console gamers have short attention spans.

And PC gamers frequently deal with hemorrhoids from sitting on their high horse all day. Do you see how silly that sounds? Please don't generalize.

The console TES fans are just as loyal as the PC ones. This game will stick around for some time.

Very well said. I for one consider myself a gamer neither console or pc, but I prefer console. I am wondering though that if they are the "master race" why pc people are so excited about getting console controller support and ui.......kinda sad actually. If I am not mistaken console had controller support since launch and pc getting it like 2 years after.

I love the fact there are no addons, nobody wins cause they have "better" addons or anything else. the game is huge on console and i will play as long as there are players to play with in pve and against in pvp, im fine with that :)

    • Controller support Console has this already and once text chat is added we can use a keyboard too
    • Chat Box Console should get this soon
    • Rebind Keys no need on console, its already very sweet on a controller
    • Addons addons are not needed
    • Better Graphics console graphics are amazing and we all love it
    • Connect to big TV console can do this too
    • Portable (if on laptop) PS4 has remote play via psvita

It will really depend on how the game continues to develop and what ZOS adds to it. If we see 1 major add-on in the next year then you can see the community drop somewhat due to other games coming.
