The Draw Distance slider in the video settings does nothing. Deleting the profile folder or repairing the installation has no effect.
Do you mean View Distance, perhaps?
There's a tremendous difference between 0 and 100, the changes will manifest themselves gradually over a few seconds after moving the slider.

Notice how this does not only affect which objects are drawn (e.g. distant trees and rocks) , but the LOD of textures as well (e.g. on the nearer Ayleid architecture).
What is your general Graphics Quality setting? On lower qualities, View Distance might not make as large a difference as on higher quality. There's still a difference between choosing a higher general Graphics Quality setting and then tuning single options down, than the other way around.
How much VRAM does your Mac have? Or does it use shared/UMA system RAM for Intel graphics?
