Werewolf Transformation Exp not budging.

KotaTheMalamute
I've been killing a lot of high and low level enemies as a werewolf, I use devour, and kill basically everything in sight. What I don't get is, the Exp bar isn't budging at all. I'm a werewolf level 7, but my transformation is still a level one. It's not moving at all, I want to be a berserker.

Oh, your actual transform skill? That ranks up from gaining XP while it's equipped. So if you're, say, Vet 1, killing anyone below 45 will yield no XP for it.

You can rank up your Werewolf skill line by killing egregiously under-leveled enemies, but the transform won't advance unless your victim is at least level (your level - 5). With Vets counting their level as 50 at all times.

I have heard that you level the werewolf line by kills (not level dependent), but the skills within the WW skill set by XP (kills level dependent AND quest hand ins while on ability bar) .. are you killing mobs out of your character range ?
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

    Yeah, this is basically correct.

Every kill while in werewolf form will award 5xp for your WW skill line. The only exception is kills that occur while you're inside range of the shrines (so your transform isn't ticking down.)

But, your actual werewolf skills, like pounce, hircine's gift, and the transform, advance like normal skills based on XP received. So if you have them equipped while turning in quests, they'll get a serious bump. This also means if you're killing enemies that are way below your level, the skills themselves won't advance, only the skill line.

Also (at least on the PC) you can equip any werewolf skill to your normal bars, so you can level them while not transformed, just by playing content normally. Though, you can't use them when you're not transformed, so you're taking a bit of a penalty to become a better wolf.

Oh, one more thing, the werewolf skills have very high advancement costs. This is kinda blind from the player, so you're not expected to see it, but they're calculated on the XP gains of a mid 40s character. Trying to level them on, say, a level 16, will take a long time.

Bingo, the best way to level the skill line is by turning in quests. my tip is to put all of your werewolf abilities on your second bar including your werewolf Ulti. Do some questing in your current level zone. When you turn your quests in flop to your werewolf bar, this will give you a big chunk of xp to level your skills faster. Remember you don't have to be in werewolf form when turning in the quests.

Because that is normal forum etiquette, sometimes it takes a while to type out a post, and there could have been several unrelated posts in the meantime.

Alrighty~! Thanks guys. Yeah, my friend had me convinced I could level it up by killing lower level enemies. I'm a level twenty and such, killing level tens. I'll try for higher enemies! Thanks guys (And possibly girls)!
