New PvP player with serious questions

Hi All,

Been a long time player of the game but not much PvP at all.

When actually going to try it I've noticed that PvE in Cyrodill might be VR14, and at that stage I was level 15. I thought the enemies were scaled to your level?

I just figured that when you can do PvE in PvP that's how some people were levelling up?

I have tried looking up a few guides and all but theres none really specific online, they're all rather vague.

I know that there are a bunch of quests you can take at the starting area, which I figured was PvE. As for the PvP part, I'm assuming just getting apart of a big group and try and take over a fort.

This may seem like a newb bunch of questions, but im really hoping someone on here can shed some light on these answers and be considerate about it. I thoroughly enjoy the game but never had much to do with pvp, I'm currently VR 4. A lot of questions I have I haven't found on any guides online

The quests at the entrance to Cyrodiil are all PVP related. Kill 20 players of a specific class, capture a keep, resource, scroll. The only one you can consider PVE as such is create a scout report, as your not actually fighting anyone. There is also bounty PVE quests if you purchase the last passive in fighters guild.

As for scaling, all the mobs are VR14. All players who are not VR 14 have there attributes scaled to VR14, however a real VR14 would have the gear and CP a lower leveled player will not have.

There is a PVP introduction quest in the beginning. If you finish it you will get some gold and alliance points (AP). After you have done it you can pick up PVP related quests like killing people of a special class, capture a keep, scouting, ...
I would not recommend to focus on these quests, you will finish them from time to time and get some extra rewards.

If you want to step into PVP you can ask for a group in zone chat, just by writing LFG or something like that. The other way is to look for anything on the map that is "burning"/under attack. If it's one of your keeps try to get inside and defend it. If it's an enemy keep try to support the siege, either with siege weapons or by protecting the ones who are sieging.

If you don't have reached the veteran ranks I would highly recommend to play on the non veteran campaign. Even with scaled up attributes you won't have a lot of fun on a veteran campaign with fully equipped and experienced VR14 players.

    For PVE in Cyrodiil:
There are daily quests in every area of the map and dungeons you can jump into. Some of these dungeons are used for grinding XP, others for farming treasure chests.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask!

    Greetings

Thanks so much! Yeah I knew about the burning keeps :). I'd find it difficult to kill a different class though depending on their level

PVP is all about experience. Every class has a weakness, you just have to learn how to fight them. You might consider joining a PVP guild, there will be people who love to share their experiences! ;)
