PC Controller support: Option to Turn off?

I just saw they are adding PC controller support to ESO on the QuakeCon Live broadcast.

Even if we use a controller, will be able to turn the controller support option off so we can continue to use the controller set up we have now?

No offense, but I can't stand your console controller layout. I like mine better.

Hopefully. I know the console folks have been asking about remapping the controller buttons and I don't think they can.

maybe they will allow people to edit the UI for controller addons plus controller UI and I will start using one

Just asking as I missed it until the recording is up...how would they disable controller remapping on PC?
Ppl just go into the files and change stuff as its on your PC and not server side

(Just thinking what it should allow)

Not sure. In the announcement, it said that controller support is automatic when you plug in your controller, so it's all automatic. That is why I am hoping we can turn it off, or they allow remapping, as their choice of layout really sucks compared to what I use now.

I wonder if it's just an added function as I can switch on and off on the fly with K/M and controller like in many games.

I love this, wasn't expecting it at all and it's cool that the UI autoswitch depending on your input device. I might buy the Xbox Elite controller for this so I can remap to paddle switches. Play casually on the couch when going solo and kb+mouse when doing group content with the advantage of PC Ultra gfx, addons and text chat, can't wait.

They mentioned what they use in house in regards to the auto-switch so we will likely get the same if not similar mechanics.
Controller support will be automatic:
The UI will switch to the controller based one when you connect a controller
The UI will automatically switch between keyboard&mouse and controller styles based on which input you used last.
i.e. Plug in a controller and move your mouse, UI switches to keyboard&mouse style. Press a button on your controller later and the UI switches to controller style, without unplugging or disabling any input devices.

I could be mistaken, but I would assume you can change the keymap on the controller the same way you can the keyboard. It would be idiotic not to.

But either way, I don't see how it would cause anyone harm to have that as an option.

Now now , we know Zenimax doesn't think well of giving options.

Now now , we know Zenimax doesn't think well of giving options.

Regardless, the Xbox Elite controller will allow you to remap as you see fit on both Windows 10 and Xbox One, unfortunately this option will be locked behind a $150 paywall.

Hey man i know on ps4 you can remap your controller..almost any way you like by

Settings - Accessibility - Button Assignments..

-I have my weaponswap and crouch swaped so i can push down in combat to swap weapons and then left on d=pad to crouch

What I'm wondering is how this will work with addons...

I'm hoping it doesn't cause issues with their compatibility with switching back and forth between the two different UIs and controller setups. I'm looking forward to trying out this game with a controller, though! It's great to hear we won't need to switch to the console to experience this too.
