Broken Skill/animation Cancelling

    Like Dark Souls where there is minimal animation cancelling yet satisfying combat, do you still think that is "slow and boring"? Or how about Chivalry where there is no animation cancelling yet still requires skill and is fun?

    It's not broken it zos says it's not going to be 'fixed'

    It's not hard to do and it's better than just hitting skills with 1s global cooldowns.

    Its stupid, looks horrible (this is ES game after all), it makes no sense, its not intended, have a huge impact on class balance, punishes players with higher ping.. thats pretty much broken mechanic. Whats the point of animation if we cant see them. Worst thing is we are forced to use it, and it contributes to damage stacking madness. They left it as it is because there were not enough people complaining, lot of guilt falls on streamers with hundreds of blind followers who actually think and teach others that it takes "skill" to AC. I know its not going anywhere soon but AC is sure one of the worst things ever happened in this game.

    Players with high ping get punished without AC, high ping is high ping it'll affect you either way.

    It's a fantasy mmorpg you can call meteors doesn't matter if something doesn't make sense. How does it affect class balance everyone can cancel.

    Well ill give you fantasy argument, some people have weird fantasies, i guess this is one of those. Just as you noticed players with high ping get punished anyway, there is no reason to punish them even more to the boiling point with AC, they payed for their game and should be able to play it. And for class balance, some abilities are far more effective with AC than they should be (this pulls constant nerfs), and some are far less effective than they should be (like chanels and dot's). I could go forever with class balance and AC but its pointless because its not going away.

    But you an AC channels and Dots, you can AC everything.

    Name a skill you can't AC.

    Dude read what i wrote, i know everything can be AC. Channels and dots are far less effective comparing it to instant cast skill because you cant lash out their full damage when you AC them. Broken mechanic

    So basically a very simple issue , the skill/animation canceling in ESO has gone too far.....
    a Player is able to preform 7+ attacks in less than 2 seconds....
    Now all those who come here to say L2P and such... i already say l2not-abusing-broken-mechanics.

    even Age Of conan Combo canceling was alot less broken than this....

    notice how many attacks came in between 9:07:26 to 9.07.28
    thats abit les than 2 seconds and 8 attacks came in from 1 player.....

    Miss Age Of Conan back in the day. Twoshot was my toon or munchin n Rug my wife an i, twin toon.
    You are right though, the animation canceling is not just broken in this game, it is too open to massive exploitation. I did a post a few months back, where i set up a 1 button rotation macro on my R.A.T.9 mouse (Using just the built in software that comes with most gaming mouse). i could swap weapons and heal, put up both of my shields, and swap back to my main weapon and be back to doing dps on my target around 1.6 seconds. with one click of a button.... If that does not say fooked up mechanics nothing will. The other more simple one is vigor + dodge roll macro.
    I for one am going to be honest, i have 1 and one only macro that i use. and that is Surprise attack + light attack weave. On my mouse, yet i could macro just about anything i want into a rotation. But for my particular play style i find it easier to use each ability as its needed to better manage resources.
    Does it need fixing? hell yes it does!!! but zos are interested in 1 thing and 1 thing only $$$$$$.
    *** if you where to get all the comic con EA vids together and put a clip together of every lie told by zos... i'm sure there is a law suit there waiting to happen. "We are committed to releasing content every quarter" So quarter 1 of this year the thieves guild hits "test live" and the content comes out in quarter 2 onto live servers. Typical dodgy half truths / lies from zos.
    Do not expect changes anytime soon.

    If macros are forbidden, why does ESO have no protection against them? MMOs that don't allow the use of macros actually block them, which is entirely possible.
    Besides, how do we know that wasn't from multiple people? There's no skills or names in the log, just lots of different numbers.

    How does a game block marcos?

    All skills in ESO have a global cooldown of 0.9 which cannot be bypassed. That is what stops macros from using multiple skills in a second. A developer can limit what they can do, but can't actually block them. All the system sees are input commands. That is what a macro is. A series of input commands programmed to be sent with a single input.
