I have found that I often see the writ recipes as writ rewards which is ironic in my opinion. Other locations where the recipes can be found are in desks, cabinets, backpacks, and the occasional humanoid mob. Beware that in civilized areas, looting containers will be considered stealing (warning will open when you open container) and draw the unwanted attention of the local guards.
Keep checking the guild traders, it may take some time but eventually the recipes show up.
An alternative to completing the writ is to have a friend with the recipe make you some. You do not have make the item yourself as the writ centres will accept the crafted version of the item requested. It is possible to find non-craft versions of the writ items but they will be of white quality and not the crafted green.
Good Luck and happy crafting.

Serious answer: you can abandon the quest and see what you get the next day--it will be a rotation of 3 sets of recipes, so you should have a 2/3 chance of not getting the troublesome one. I feel for you--I am still unable to locate a Golden Lager. The guild traders can help, though--I got Carrot Soup that way.
I just saw this a few days ago. Check out the chart from the link in this thread, and it should help you to know which recipes to collect for a particular writ level--once you have all 6 you need, just re-spec for that level (even if down) until you can get all 6 for a higher level.I was thinking about that but I picked up that writ when I was level 6 with level 2 Provisioning. I now am level 28 with 22 Provisioning. The Writ that I get if I abandon it will be much more difficult to fulfill.
