What are YOUR problems with eso

I agree that people can have their wishlists for the games they play and forums can be a great medium to bring them into the open.

In my opinion though, Zenimax is a company that makes a game called ESO and during this process they make decisions about how the game should be. They make this game in a way they think people will enjoy it. And with all things in life, some decisions people like, some they don't. If most people don't like the majority of the decisions Zenimax make, they can CHOOSE to throw their money to something else.

What I see is what is happening on these forums on a daily basis. Whining, complaining, saying Zenimax-employees lie, predicting how soon ESO will go down the drain. If your wishes concerning ESO are not fulfilled, that doesn't directly mean that any injustice is done to you. Some people are trying to convince that the opposite is true.

Maybe I should just go playing the game now...

And BTW, I don't want to harras any console player here, it seems that text chat for them is a BIG issue, I can imagine it is sorely missed.

My biggest complaint, disappointment, overall no excuse and HUGE MISSED opportunity is....

Why the heck is it impossible to quest with friends????

Honestly vive a care less about the XP or not earning the item again. I just want to be in their "instance" and quest with them.

If it's a Solo quest, I'm ok with that. But there is simply NO EXCUSE why can't quest together if its a public one. For crying out loud the randoms join in on quest when doing it at same time.

    It's called using Voice Chat!

Not trying to be mean or rude but Voice Chat is not only easy to use, it is way more efficient than typing for 20 mins to trade something or read nonstop spammers advertising their crap.

I have sold numerous things in Voice Chat. Just roll up to crafting station and share what you are selling. Boom. Done.

Sorry but the infamous, gratuitous, complaining of "the console has no text chat so I can't do anything, ever" is growing quite stale. People act like their Xbox or PS4 will not turn on since there is no text chat on the consoles.

My top list of things I want to see changed/fixed:

    1. Veteran ranks take far too long to level through, and you get to the point where there's no option other than mind-numbing grinding. Grinding should never be necessary just to progress through the levels, you should always have quest options up to the max level.

    2. Trading system is crap. Guild stores worked ok on PC, once they were populated, but probably 50% of trade was still done using zone chat/text chat. On consoles, there is no text chat, it's nearly impossible to find buyers for anything you're selling or to find sellers for anything you need to buy, and the ZOS-nazis keep shutting down trade threads instead of creating a proper trading forum for consoles or fixing the root of the problem.

    3. Aesthetics/Customization. We're over a year into the game now, and even longer since the first beta slots opened up, yet we still have no barbershop/character recustomization feature, we still cant dye weapons or shields, we still cant pick from lower level armor models to use on higher level armor (because, let's face it, armor gets uglier and uglier as you level up), we dont have any way to customize our mount appearance/mount armor to match our own, the list goes on and on. These are features that are typically baseline in other MMO's, they shouldnt be something that players are still having to ask for a year+ into the game.

    4. PvP still focuses too much on zergballs/wrecking balls. Siege warfare is great, castle-based warfare is great, huge pvp zones are great, but it all means nothing when 40 players cram together into the space of a single character model and run around blasting everything instantly with aoe spells. There are numerous solutions to this problem: first and foremost are the complete removal of AOE caps: if my spell can hit 40 people and do the same amount of damage to all of them, it really discourages them from clumping together. When my spell can only hit 5 or 6 people, or does significantly less damage when there's more targets than that, they're encouraged to cram together.
Adding Player collision would also help this situation greatly. Imagine if (in cyrodiil only), a line of tanky characters could prevent enemies from moving through them. Coordination would allow a group of players to line up shoulder to shoulder and stop the enemy from getting to their healers/archers/casters. You could also coordinate your group to trap or block in an enemy force, preventing their retreat.

    5. Crafting vs Rewarded gear. As a master crafter (50 blacksmithing, 50 woodworking, 50 clothing, all motifs and 6-7 researched traits in all item types), I feel relatively useless when it comes to endgame gear. Only a few crafted sets are worthwhile, and those are the 4-6 trait sets. The 8/9 trait sets are mostly useless, and what few good sets I can craft are quite often out-performed by sets that are received as drops or pvp/dungeon rewards. It also takes a ridiculous amount of materials to upgrade an item to epic or legendary, while deconstructing that item only gives a max of a single upgrade material back.
The whole crafting system, as it stands, is a mess. There's not enough ability for customization, there's not enough value to make it worth using over dropped gear, there's no good outlet because of the poor trade system to profit from crafting. I've dumped hundreds of thousands of gold into crafting and havent seen even a break even return from selling gear or traits.
Also, with the latest motifs requiring extremely hard to get style materials (dwemer frames, and soon malachite shards / charcoal), on top of splitting those motifs into a dozen different parts to make it even more tedious to acquire, it feels like Zenimax is just taking a huge steaming dump on the crafters in this game.

    1. Yes. It takes so long to level up it feels like I'm not progressing at all sometimes.

I cannot stress how much I agree with 2. Every single time I've tried to bring this up on the forums the most common response I get is this:
"WHY DON'T YOU JUST JOIN A GUILD IF YOU WANT TO TRADE!? WHAT'S THAT!? YOU DON'T WANT TO JOIN A GUILD FOR A ONE OF TRADE!? YOU'RE JUST LAZY AND STUPID!!! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRADING SYSTEM IN THIS GAME!!! TO SAY OTHERWISE IS TO INVOKE MY WRATH!! YOU ARE MAKING THIS INTO A PROBLEM BY POINTING IT OUT! HOW DARE YOU EVEN SUGGEST THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THIS GAME!? IT'S NOT AN ISSUE BECAUSE IT DOESN'T AFFECT ME AND I SAY IT ISN'T AN ISSUE! HOW DARE YOU KEEP TALKING ABOUT THIS NON-ISSUE!! OMG HOW DARE YOU TRY TO FORCE YOUR OPINION ON OTHERS!!! YOU HAVE NO RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS!!! YOU DON'T DESERVE MY RESPECT!!!! GO CRY YOURSELF A RIVER YOU BIG BABY!!!"

Funny thing is it's always the same guy that says these things to me. He doesn't leave me alone. In the event he's reading this, GO AWAY! NOBODY LIKES YOU!!!

I agree with EVERYTHING for 3 as well. I wanted my character to be SLIGHTLY shorter than average. Everyone else made their characters tall as hell, so now my character looks like a dwarf by comparison (and not the fantasy kind).

for 4...I haven't touched Cyrodiil yet so I wouldn't know about that.

    5. I haven't mastered smithing yet or gotten to craglorn (where you get the highest level gear atm) so I wouldn't know.

I want to believe that when I master smithing I'll never need to rely on finding weapons ever again.

I rather have text spam, than voice spam doing the same thing when I am trying to concentrate at a crafting station. I have to turn off voice because of that. It is REALLY annoying.

Movement speed scaling makes the game feel unresponsive or unrealistic. The default run speed is too slow and the animation doesn't correlate well to the actual movement speed. The upper movement speed with speed buff applied, especially on horses is too fast. It makes movement feel uncontrolled and unrealistic. Speed passives, e.g. Orc +20%, and horse +60 don't seem to apply unless there is a speed buff applied. Don't even ask me about if you select walking speed in Cyrodiil.

I truly feel that the scaling of movement, most notably in Cyrodiil, needs to be re-evaluated and modified.

    Thanks for reading.

    1. Veteran Ranks
    2. Reward structure; meaning, the relation between item and exp rewards and the difficutly of the activity is not reasonable
    3. ENCHANTING. It's my favourite profession in all TES games and it SUCKS in ESO. Effects are weak and uninteresting, crafting and gathering itself is boring at best to tedious. Passives are so lackluster compared to other professions they might as well scrap them alltogether. It deserves an overhaul in greater magnitude than provisioning.

All of the above, I find it quite worrying that there are so many issues. Not just that there are issues, but the fact the issues have been the same since launch well over a year ago.

I really like the game, it is beautiful to play whilst things are working, but there are far to many bugs and issues with game play or lack of.

It also feels like these concerns are ignored by ZOS, it rare to see a real response from ZOS on any of the issues in the game. It has been heartening to see more posts from Brian Wheeler regarding PVP, but like many others here I'll now only believe it when I see it. (it's sad that many don't believe anything ZOS says anymore)

Back in 2007 I would frequently alternate between playing Oblivion and World of Warcraft. I was able to get both my deep single player RPG fix and my MMO fix every week, and it was by far a more fullfilling experience than ESO has been. Some things are just oil and water and cannot effectively be combined.
Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

I am enthralled with this title so far. Only level 17 at the moment so far but there is a wealth of content to engage in and it's wonderful. I don't have any real complaints to speak of, more of a disappointment in the fact that most of the mounts in game are only available by purchasing them through the crown store. It's goofy and there should be considerably more available to purchase in game with the gold you earn. At 17 I just bought my horse and I feel there should be way more variety down the road to earn mounts. I thought I read a while back when they announced the crown store that almost everything on the crown store would be available to earn in game as well. That does not seem to be the case. At least none of it is in the pay to win format which is awesome. Other than that, consoles could use some text chat and a proper worldwide auction house if only for trading purposes. :) I will say however that with the lack of text chat and a buy to play model has completely eliminated any and all gold spammers from this game on consoles and it is glorious. Not sure about the PC version though. :)

    The crown store mainly.

I play on the xbox one and would really like a guar mount and I understand that they need money for server and stuff but if you start the game with 500 crowns and the least amount of crowns you can buy at once is 750 crowns and the guars are 1300 crowns, its kinda bad because you have to pay the next amount which is 1500 and that costs lot of money for what it is.
I don't mean to be whiny because of the amount of money, it's just the fact that you'd only need 50 more crowns but you have to pay more.

    1. No nameplates. One of the worst decisions ever in MMO history
    2. Veteran ranks/Cadwells Gold-Silver quests is horrible.
    3. Loot drops from bosses is worthless for the most part due to set bonuses on crafted gear. Most of the time it isn't worth breaking the set bonus to equip the boss loot. Bosses should drop rare gear with unique graphics and allow crafters to enchant it with whatever item set they have access to.

Said it earlier and will say it again as it bothers me the more and more I think about it.

Its a bunch of easy content with vertical progression and it is so easy that everything is nothing more than the time you put in. Maybe what bothers me more is people are ok with it. "Time spent playing should be rewarded" would be the catch all phrase, but its just boring and as they keep stacking more progression systems like this on top of each other ad-infinitum; I think more players will see it but it will take them realizing that they are not really doing much fun, just "farming" and "grinding" away.

    Combat animations.
No, I don't mean that weaving/cancellation stuff - I mean the actual visual quality of them.
The revamp didn't much to improve them, although it did reduce the hunchback'ness by about 50%.

My gripe mainly concerns the overall posture and especially the blocking animations (a lot of the animations of the actual combat skills are actually quite fine).
But damn... why would I lean as much over to my opponent as I can without falling over and then vertically holy up the sword over my nose to block an attack?).

Lack of a working group finder is my biggest issue so far. Group dungeons are the most fun you can have in PvE and its nearly impossible to get a group quickly and even if you do, people don't use mics (console) and often will just drop the group in a minute.

I absolutely HATE the way the Trading / Guild Traders / "Auction House" / whatever you want to refer to it as...system is implemented.

Forces you to spend WAY too much time running to each "trader" just to see if anyone has the item your looking for. I'd rather spend my time playing...not "going to the market".

At least make the "zone" searchable if you're not going to add a "global" Auction House.

No amount of defending the current "system" will make my opinion on the matter change.

Gripe: people who make excuses for this game.

After observing ZOS for a year+ in this game, from beta to present, it is apparent (even to me) that ZOS does not care much for the player experience past level 9. All that seems to matter is that they got your money up front.
