Magicka bar missing when fighting

all of a sudden, when i start fighting any mob, i have my health and stamina bars, but no makicka bar... Makes it really hard to fight mobs as a DW NB when i have no idea if i can use my magicka abilities or not!! ...deleting the save file worked for the first fight, then next gone again.
