so why DID they stop Night silence 5set stacking with Dark stalker?

    before anyone points out, put this in general since it involves both skill tree's and crafted sets.

    It made NB's extremely OP. Combined with mist form and cloak and concealed weapon, I would go through a swarm of 40 players sieging a keep and burn every single siege weapon without dying. I was surprised it made it to live from PTS at all because the issue was mentioned multiple times in the PTS forum before the patch was released to the live server.

    The set was back in the day when many Nightblades burned siege engines because they were not strong enough for actual combat.

    The definition of "extremely OP" being setting fire to siege engines tho...

    Well the same play style worked really well for ganking also. But yes that was when nightblades where weaker and you had to rely on stealth mechanics more not to die if you were wearing medium armor.

    The play style of running around in Sneak and using Mist without killing anyone worked really well for ganking?

    Or do you mean that the Sneak Speed set that required massive sacrifices to the damage of opening attacks, and all combat utility after the first attack, allowed players a slightly easier time setting up attacks, even though those attacks were dramatically weaker?

    so far the only real reason that keeps cropping up is the speed being equal or greater than mount speed... at the sacrifice of damage

    any idea if this would be brought back up into consideration by the Crafting sets/Skills team?
    the altered 30% cap on move speed while stealthed would be the most viable one or even 25% as currently if you want to play a stealth build efficiantly, you MUST go Nightblade and with the next update, it's nightblade or die in most solo situations

    You do know that there are other sets that have similar effects, right? Players just want this combination back so they can crawl at 60 miles per hour again.

    if you actually read posts from before. i suggest limiting the max speed of sneak. so it cannot go above a set speed.

    probably right actually, i remembered alot of NB's abusing it ontop of their stuff to shuffle in and out of combat while hitting hard :(
    but hence the limiter, damn annoying not being able to effectivly play a stealthy character and struggle with stealth initiation :/

    Unfortunately, opportunity cost and math seem to be overlooked very, very often on forums like these :).

    Not that I cared either way, but if I undstood the math, you needed to feed the fastest horse in the game 45/49 apples just to edge out the sneak speed stacking.

    Only with concealed on the bar as a vampire along with the five piece night's silence set, and it was still slower than a horse running without sprint. With sprint. the horse would be a solid 10% or so faster, and if you dismounted for just one second out of about every 25, you could pop retreating manuevers just as some do to stay shielded while riding by dismounting with a jump and skill use in the air then immediately re mounting when you landed (net stop of about one second flat, barely any movement loss while moving), sprinting at that ended up making your speed 50% quicker than the fast sneak speed (retreating and sprint are both multiplicative).

    As with most things involving math, of which there are more than a few recent firestorms due to not calculating anything out and simply running to post a theoretical complaint :D, there was a tempest in a teapot about this fairly balanced tradeoff and mechanic resulting in a nerf :(.
