Crating levels on mothballed character

I decided to reroll my NB from Dumner to Bosmer. However, I had leveled Provisioning up to 30 and had some levels in all others. Shall I continue using the Dumner for provisioning, or start up eating recipes on the Bosmer? I'm not a fan of relogging for alts but don't like to see all that time/recipe/ingredient farm go to waste.

Given that character level doesn't have any bearing on Provisioning (unlike others like smithing where character level affects base mat returns from deconning) I don't see a downside to using a low-level alt.

HOWEVER, my concern would be long-term, ZOS are pretty hostile to 'crafting mules', as the many anti-mule aspects of crafting testify (the major obvious one being the deliberately crippled storage options with no per-character bank), so I'd be worried eventually they'd gate crafting by level.

Because of set crafting stations, equipment craftng should be on a veteran character, preferably an actively played one. For consumables it doesn't matter. That said, Provisioning is easy to train and your Dunmer wasn't maxed yet, so it should be fairly quick to transfer to your new Bosmer. You won't even lose max level recipes because you haven't learned them yet - and purples are rarely used on lower levels.

Provisioning is the easiest Craft to level. 2 or 3 stacks of Ingredients, about 5 recipes and you can be at L50 in an hour. You can buy 100 stacks pretty cheap in the guild stores.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Provisioning is very easy, takes actually less than 1 hour to lvl up fully.
Buy a bunch of provisioning recipes for all levels, buy stacks of the materials needed.

Learn a bunch of green recipes for all levels, start crafting level 15 food or drinks, not level 5... as the 15 provides maximum Inspiration Points. Press RRRRRRRRRRR untill you reach level 20 in provisioning, then use a skillpoint to be able to craft higher level recipes, go with a level 25 recipe instead of a level 20, because it will provide you with most Inspiration Points, press RRrrRRRrrrRrrRRrrrRRRRRRRRRRrrRRR untill you are level 30 in provisioning, use skillpoint, find level 35 recipe food or drink, press RRRRRRRRRRRRR repeat repeat repeat x_x

Preparation takes longer than pressing RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR really :/

OK good tips. So far I've just getting cheap/stolen recipes, scavenging/stealing/laundering ingredients, and RRRing the highest level food I can, when the bank gets full... Thinking about it, raising some cash and buying stacks probably saves more time.

How many points do you put in Improvement/Quality?

Blue Foods are nice to use while leveling so get that up to 2. However, except for the first Blue or first Purple, you get the same Inspiration making Greens as you do Blues or Purples. So, grind on Greens for leveling.

I am not sure of the value of using Purples on characters less than level 40, but if you have the recipes and the purple ingredients, try a couple to see if they are worth using a few hundred gold worth of ingredients to make foods. Most people wait until VR Ranks to make and use Purple foods in quantity. I am sure a L25 could benefit from a Purple Food if they are taking on a world boss or something like that.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
