I've got the witcher it's a talk simulator I have enjoyed eso but Its just zos thst have annoyed me I'm sick of getting kicked out of the game I'm going to play ff14 now if it's like warcraft I will prob stay there

Last night I totally had enough of the game I was searching for a dungeon for 2 hours and I finally got a team travelled to the dungeon and no one came noone was on voice chat so I couldn't communicate with them it's a big issue that needs addressing

I play both ESO (XB1) and FFXIV. In my opinion, ESO still feels like it still has quite a way to go to really compete with other MMOs.

It's so inefficient to try to communicate with people in ESO whether it be to trade, guild chat or to find ppl to run dungeons with. Add to that the LFG tool is broken so you can't really even use that to run dungeons. Trying to be hipster by having only voice chat only make ESO weak in the MMO compartment.

Any good MMO has many ways to let people find others and to form communities. In ESO, you just either play by yourself or with a circle of friends. I mean... you can try yelling in area chat, but you'd prolly just get muted for being annoying.

FFXIV is in a pretty good place atm. I would say go play FFXIV now and come back to ESO in a few months to see if they have fixed these glaring issues that hurt ESO as an MMO.

This is not to say I don't like ESO. In fact, I actually love the gameplay and the world in general. Hell I even don't mind silver and gold. I just can't stand the way ZOS has gone about implementing the socialization systems in the game and that's a big enough issue for me to walk away from this game.

Communication, using communication to group up, or socialization as a team to beat or attain a common goal does not exist in ESO.
.... I have to admit, the devs do listen to reason, if not to the forums. Thank you for "nameplates", a welcome addition to immersion, as well as the text chat box for PS4, which only comes on the screen when I need it too, and helps this gameplay SO MUCH MORE then without it. THANK YOU for the additions. Very much appreciated.

It is good that we have vent,ts,mumble, razor comms and such. I did learn to have a back up mic set up and ready to go. As the turtle beaches decided to play dead turtle on me. Right in the middle of a really cool guild event.

None of those matter if you can't communicate with someone in the area about doing a dungeon. They work with people you already know... but when you need to pug something... Ha, wait, you can't ever pug anything in this game, lol. Joke.

Ff14..... Tried it and found it was a bit like guildwars2 .... Go and kill 10 of these cheesy looking things , come back , oh go and kill 20 of these good looking but cheesy things:

Pretty game, but no atmosphere at all , didn't understand the lore (if there was any) and I was constantly running around just killing everything.

    Perhaps I didn't give it long enough but in my opinion it just didn't make me feel like I was in a 'world apart from reality' while I was playing, just felt like a 'game;

, ESO does despite all its current problems actually make me feel like I'm immersed in a different reality while I'm playing

FFXIV is good but has nothing new. I played to level 50 but got bored doing the gear treadmill and quit. Pvp kinda sucks there. I couldn't get into the story and didn't like the cutesy atmosphere and the slow combat steers me away from wanting to play it in the future. If you can handle the skill GCD and like PVE, I say go for it.

Well at least ffxiv company fixed their [SNIP] after the failed 1st launch which gives them a favorable opinion.

Personally I cant leave eso because no other recent game has the 3 way warfare and this is what Iook for.

I'm playing both FFXIV and ESO for the moment but I won't subscribe to FF next month, ESO is far from perfect but even with the lack of text chat, PSN ID's/Gamertag on console instead of character names, bugs and such, I like it more, go figure... -_-

Or people could spend 20-30 dollars to get a mic? I still don't get how people get 60 dollar games but don't have a mic.

In all honesty FFXIV is the better game, it may tend to stick to the tried and tested but it does it well. Regular, polished content updates, for example, and good and honest communication from the devs/CMs.

The ability to play all classes/jobs on one character is also a great bonus imo as are the cutscenes, which feature in the main story and quite a few quests and show your character in them.

Also has lots of cool side stuff - I can't imagine many MMOs putting time into things like the Gold Saucer (a hybrid casino/theme park) like FFXIV has.

As to the end-game grind, most MMOs feature some kind of grind but I prefer what FFXIV does over the VR/CP grind of this game.

Whilst FFXIV does operate a cash shop it is highly optional and has very little focus on it - the thing killing ESO for me is the fact I just see them going more and more down the LOTRO route where the cash shop is the most important thing.

Having played FFXIV:ARR for a little over a year and a half(I quit in Dec. 2014), even with old friends from my previous MMO; FFXI. I was surprised that after a year of playing even with my long-time friends I was unhappy and I realized why. This is obviously my experience and opinion, so take it how you will.

Back when I played FFXI I led a guild for a time and it was so easy to include my entire guild in our events because of the way FFXI was set up. Now when it came to us moving to XIV, albeit not everyone moved and went to the same server, but a good portion of my friends ended up playing together again, great right!? Kinda. The thing with End game groups in FFXIV:ARR is you are more often than not stuck with playing as a static group of 8 in end game situations and the community is such that it can be horrid playing with people you don't know, not because they're "bad" and can't do this and that but because the general attitude is impatient and immature to say the least. Also, the end game content was only clear-able once per week and you could not re-enter to even help others if you had cleared. This more than anything destroyed my experience in terms of wanting to play with my entire guild and long-time friends. Many of my friends continue to still play but I really wasn't in a good place with how the game felt after having such a great time in FFXI.

Remember I quit before this new expansion but I can probably guarantee that the systems haven't changed with gear, stats and battle. As far as battle goes, most encounters are actually fun but it's the lack of variety in terms of gear and stat customization that's a real downer. ESO by far has the better gear/stat system, but you can be the judge of that since it really depends on your interests. I could go into a lot of the things I dislike about FFXIV but I'm actually tired of the subject(I raised issues on the FFXIV forums a lot, lol) and to be honest it's just my experience, someone could have a different one, a more positive one.

Ultimately my amazing experience I had in FFXI was to blame for the disappointment of FFXIV, the game could have been far more better than it currently is. The only pull FFXIV has on me is the wanting to play with my friends, lol.

I'll finish with what I liked about FFXIV and that would be the graphic style, character animation and some of the battle and background music. Also the non-end game content can actually be pretty fun like certain side quests and mini-games.

I guess you should at least try it out for a time. (Nah try out FFXI, lol)

Why not just wait untill fallout 4 ( a good single player experience with endless possibilities) and star wars battlefront ( pvp of all types and an insane system.

Boom all covered and both come out very shortly :)
I don't like fallout or star wars, elder scrolls is an online game but it doesn't feel like it is guilds are pointless there's no community impossible to find groups for dungeons once your in group you can't communicate with them so doing the dunfeon then becomes a challenge if your with idiots who just run and get all the aggro it could be helped with just 2 things more improved group finder and text chat on console

    This is all incorrect.

1st of all the new Starwars and Fallout 4 games will be some of the best ever made - Period.

Secondly you must be very bad at being social as I'm constantly socializing with my guild and running dungeons/pvping. You need to learn some stuff before you bash it. Ample Communities.

Its up to the flavor of game you like.

I just re-subbed to ESO after an almost a year break. To me its the TES lore, combat, and AvA drawing me back.

I dont have to do dungeon grinds to get all my gears; I can help out in AvA by having my own siege without taking other ppl's supplies; I dont have to do tab-targetting; Most important of all, eso does not have too many dailies, or the dailies does not have as high priority as in other MMOs, I can actually do what I want to do in eso.

If you're more of a FF fan then yeah ofcourse but not if you're of a TES fan no way.

FFXIV is a good game with some great features but I personally prefer TES more immersive better detail more interaction with the world true to TES
I found FFXIV a bit to bland for me awful combat couldn't make out a thing most of the time to many flashing lights, colors etc way too much screen clutter

Imo ESO is definitely the better game but I am much more of a TES fan.

So I took advantage of FFXIV 30 day trial and the questing is brutal. Not so bad with the main quests but the side quests are the worse I've ever seen. Worst than Wow. And because the lack of PVP, I won't be subbing. The questing here blows that game a way..and that's suppose to be the PVe game? Maybe they have great dungeons?

It is beautiful though. I might just take the rest of my 30 days and walk around and look at stuff.

What currently sets FFXIV apart IMO is polish. It's been around longer, so it's had more time to iron to QoL improvements. Now that ESO has brought console into the fold, ZOS can better focus on quality of life improvements as well.

A word of advice: make sure you research the class/job you choose to learn the best rotation and skill applications. It is very easy to "do it wrong", and the game is designed as such that one person not putting their weight can wipe groups.
