Question about Craglorn and Update 7

The XP you receive from quests in Craglorn will actually be closer to an 80% increase since it's multiplicative (1.5 [from Veteran quests] * 1.2 [Craglorn] = 1.8, or an 80% increase).
@ZOS_GinaBruno How does this change affect the standard Level 50 Quest XP bracket values, since all Veteran quests use the Level 50 bracket?

Currently, Level 50 looks like this (the bolded lines are the standard values that the others are based on):
Very Easy Quest (x0.1 multiplier): 499 XP
Easy Quest (x0.75 multiplier): 3742 XP
Standard Quest (x1 multiplier): 4990 XP
Hard Quest (x1.5 multiplier): 7485 XP
Very Hard Quest (x2.25 multiplier): 11227 XP

POI Discovery (x0.15 multiplier): 716 XP
POI Standard Completion (x1 multiplier): 4775 XP
POI Hard Completion (x1.5 multiplier): 7162 XP
Scripted Event Completion (x0.1 multiplier): 477 XP

Thank goodness I haven't done a single Craglorn quest yet!

A whole bunch of them are daily...

The problem is that even with a bump to the quest experience here's what you're looking at.
    EExp = Enlightened Experience
    10k base exp ~ 20 minutes = 30kexp/hr and 120kEExp/hr
    Add in 50% buff.
    15k base exp ~ 20 minutes = 45kexp/hr and 180kEExp/hr

There are grind locations which are 500kEExp/hr.

While definitely a GREAT start I'm still worried it won't be enough. But only time will tell! :smirk:

If you could get a group that could get 11k every 20 minutes through questing, that's 20k with the new system which comes to 60k per hour, or 240k of enlightened XP. So the new system can get you about 2.5 CP's per hour. Not as good as grinding, but pretty good for doing actual content.

EDIT: 11k is pretty easy when you're getting dailies done, killing all mobs, and grabbing chests whenever possible. You get almost 1k from opening a chest.

So, daily Craglorn quest xp will increase from about 5k to 9k. That equals to about one minute of grinding.

My suggestion to Zos is to give up with this xp throttling, which is not even working. Restore everything back in Craglorn so that it is slightly increased xp from last Cadwell gold area and upper Crag again some more. Let this again scale up if there ever is an expansion. Remove all daily limitations and make all quests, pledges, dungons and delves continuously repeatable.

Let there be SO much to run that we have to pick and choose. Let the xp flow in like in grinding. Then deal with the flow and throttle the CP earning system. Make e.g. a seasonal CP limit. Today it could be 300 and each month increases it by 100. Enlightment is on permanently up to limit and CP earnings is disabled at limit plus 200.

They also confirmed they was tracking our xp for championpoint before update 6.
Never trust the "confirms" before the parch already are downloaded.

That's going solo, when I'm in a duo (with Ring of Mara) I can almost double that.

I would imagine that by the time we are VR16 we will be able to solo most of the quests in crag being that we will be quite a few levels higher than the mobs there. Isn't it a VR10-VR12 zone?

Upper Craglorn mobs are VR13, so I guess there will be VR14-15 zones

Knowing this, I might even go to craglorn and try finishing the quests, delves and getting the skyshards in that god-awful place.

We'll see if my opinion changes on craglorn when update goes live, hopefully the xp boost will bring more players, and make the experience a whole lot less terrible.

I don't even know if 80% increase is enough. I was up there doing the MQ, and we spent 3 hours and I barely moved my Exp or CP bar. I went down into a Silver zone, did two delves and gained half a level and a CP in about 20 minutes.

When they hit Craglorn Experience to stop the grinding, they hit it hard.

you have to be within 5 levels of mobs if you want xp. since you went back to a silver zone im guessing your level is too low

Yes, but designed for a full four man group. So doubtful for an average player.

Most people should be able to duo nearly all of the Craglorn quests, as long as one of them has a good tankish build, with the exception of the mandatory "4 people step on 4 stones" type quests. I have personally soloed 90% of Craglorn (combination of upper and lower) and only have 2 delves and a few quest hubs incomplete. VR16 will make this even easier.

On topic, I think this change will make it so people who want to do the quests in Craglorn won't be completely wasting their time, just kind of wasting their time. But for people like me I don't mind sacrificing some XP to get a little bit of story.

I'm going to bet one of the one's you didn't solo was The Serpent's Nest? Even with a well balanced group of 4, the boss of that delve still hits for 30k+ while blocking. There's no soloing that fight, or several others in Craglorn.

tried duo some quests. well, it asked to pick up 3 or 4 different stones and one person can carry only 1 kind, so had to abandon questing. we could kill the mobs, but cannot do quests. maybe will pick it up later

That one is soloable, i have done it with saptank. It IS hectic fight with hardly any room for error. The cone attacks need to be dodged, and in last phase water needs to be avoided. But it is no dps race. I take the healer boss first.

I think Lokh'na and Skyreach Catacombs have hardest bosses because of high stamina drain. I got the Catacombs boss with three tries after putting some more CP to stamina management, and i believe the rogue in Lokh'na will also drop soon.

I am not a super player. Those vr14 builds that can sustainably combine dps, mitigation and heals together now surpass Craglorn difficulty levels. At least NB saptank, 2h stamina and sorc petbuilds can do it with enough CP.

I really got more out of Craglorn story by soloing. Because soloing is anyway slow going, i listened the dialogs. The delves add side stories to main story. I really hope ZOS removes all the artificial gates and let people redo the whole area at their own pace as solo.

And i hope there will be a new group zone after Orsinium.

For some of the quests you must have four person group. Your quest is one of those artificially gated quests. Same thing with @TLNightshade .

I think i saw some patch notes where ZOS said they have relaxed the phase requirements of those quests. You might succeed to get through if you ask in zone others to shortly join to pick up x/stand on plate/push switch.
