Best headset for exclusive ESO use?

Hey guys so I'm looking for a new headset, and I'm wondering what the community finds most effective and benefits the playstyle of ESO the most. I'm looking for a headset that gives both great sound quality and great voice communication. The headset must be ps4 compatible. I have used in the past Beats by Dre with a converter (I was not impressed by voice, nor comfort over longer than 2 hour sessions). I used turtle beach xp500 or something like that, the reason I'm not now is the plastic broke. So I am looking for quality of depth, comfort, and voice. I do not care about hardcore footstep hearing, and price is flexible but preferably around $100-200. Post your link and a short review below, and thank you in advance for your help!

P.S. Zos employees I'd love your input too!!

Can't help you with what to get, but I do not recommend the Turtle Beach PX4, as some stores slap a "compatible with PS4" sticker on it and it is.. but not all of the features.. such as the mute button.

anywho. I would suggest something like Astro gaming headsets. I have the wireless A50's and its rather sexy headset, but it can get a little heavy on the wallet. If you are looking for something cheaper by Astro you can do the A40s or something even cheaper like Turtle Beachs. Turtle Beach XO4 and XO7 are still good to use, even if they dont have the quality like Astros

I love Corsair Headsets. The cushions on the ear pieces let me wear them for a really long time without any issues. I currently use the H1500 wired version. Although it's not noise cancelling, it works great for me.

My wife uses the Turtle Beach Stealth 400 and really likes those. It's wireless but doesn't work for my head. Plus the ear pads tend to bother me.

What ever you get, for ease of use get a wireless set with a removable mic. Then you don't have to mess with cords in your lap, and can remove the mic anytime you want.

Get the Official Playstation Gold wireless headset. Great 7.1 sound, works great with the PS4 (just plug and play). Good battery life. Comfortable. Unobtrusive mic. And reasonably priced. Beats anything by Turtle Beach easily.

These are what I use OP. The P12....the little bobble the jack plugs into is complete garbage. Unhook it, and plug just the headphone piece into your PS4 controller and it works just great. If you need to adjust volume inside the game you can using Options. For the mic itself Settings and I think it was Devices.

The mic is really good. No one has complained about silly things like buzzing being too low or too loud. It is super sensitive though so if you cough make sure you aim the thing away from your mouth.

I use Logitech G35 for ps4 they are very comfy and come with a wired and wireless version. It's got 7.1 speakers in it and sounds amazing and noise cancelation is very good on it. It also has a button on one of the ear pieces that mutes the mic which I find very handy. It's usually 130-150$.

Corsair is a PC accessories company. They got their start in RAM, but now make or design Cases, Power Supplies, and things like that.

Corsair is more an OEM branding company. They design things, then get other manufacturers to make most of their gear. Nothing wrong with this, as most brands are this way in the PC accessories world. They just set the standards and make sure things are made the way they are supposed to.

I have one of their cases, my gaming PC currently resides in one.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I can second the Corsair 1500 recomendation.... I've been using the wired version for a year now & it's really good. Solid construction, very comfy, lots of padding, good sound quality & mic etc. And pretty good value too.

Not even a question. Get a Steel Series headset. I love my Siberia Elites, but they have many to choose from. Not only is the quality of voice/audio unparalleled, but you can use it on pretty much any platform. Do yourself a favor and look into them.

I've got a suggestion brother for your 100 - 200 dollar price range.

A headset I use that is perfect for gaming and uses the technology from Astro, but not the same price tag is the Plyr 1 from Skullcandy.

Uses Dolby Headphone technology for Virtual Surround effect.

    Compatible with the PS4.

    Goes for 150 plus tax.

Great for music and movies most def.

  • MrRodriguez55Carlosub17_ESO
One thing I forgot to mention.

Make sure you have a sound card that supports Dolby Digital Live to get the full effect out of these headphones (Plyr 1)

Without that you will not be able to enjoy the headphones properly, as well as have a port for SPDIF Toslink input.

    Cheers.

What I can recommend is Sennheiser. Check if they have something available that fits your needs, and buy it. I've used two for ~10 years now. Good voice and sound quality (other couldn't notice a voice difference when I got the new one). They're also really comfortable (using the over-ear ones) and lightweight, barely notice them.

I typed my reply then realised this thread is pretty old and the headset has probably already been purchased! Ah well, may as well post it in case others are thinking of getting a headset.

I use a Kingston HyperX Cloud II gaming headset, and I've only been using it for ESO. It's comfortable for long wear, well within your price range and compatible with PS4/PC/Mac/Xbox One.

Apparently the audio isn't as comprehensive on console as it is on PC (stereo as opposed to surround sound), but I don't think I've even been using the surround on PC and it sounds great to me.

Edit: Link didn't work properly, added it at the bottom.

    V-Moda-Crossfire LP2.

These headphone's are great. They are not technically gaming headphone's however they are pretty high quality DJ headphone's for about 200$. The driver's and performance are on par with 600$ dre beat headphone's (kinda shows how garbage dre beat's are).

If you buy these headphone's i suggest getting XL ear cushion's and the High Quality Boom Microphone to go with it. This make's the headphone price a little over 200$ but these headphone's are comparable to 500$+ headphone's.

This setup work's very well for me. They look great and are very durable. You can adjust your volume and toggle it on and off. Very good high's mid's and bass. They are also sound isolating headphone's so you can be more "immersed".

These headphone's also plug straight into the controller, no usb into the ps4. All gold plated jack's as well (not that big of deal but it help's).

I love these headphone's and take them everywhere i go. Strongly recommend them. They are defiantly worth the price tag. I would almost say that the company making them is selling them too cheap.

You could also buy custom "shield's" for the headphone's to add some unique style but i did not bother.

I've looked at ton's of review's and these headphone's are usally on top of all the competitor's. The only headphone's that really beat them have a much higher price tag.

If you want "gaming headphone's" (usually focus high's and mid's for foot step's) just go with turtle beaches. However the sound quality in headphones like these are not great, they are just specific to giving you an advantage in competitive game's that require 360 degree sound awareness.

However with the Lp2, you still get that situation awareness, it's just not as potent. You do however get puncher bass and better sound quality overall.

These headphone's when listening to music though... they are amazing. Nothing to really say about it. They kick ass.

It really depend's what your looking for in the end.

Video's about the LP2's and accessories.

Just a little additional information about the Microphone. I have added a small piece of foam around the microphone to prevent "popping" and thing's you would hear when the microphone is to close to the mouth.

The guy in this review has the microphone right in front of his face and this "popping" and interference you hear with his "S" pronunciation is noticeable but completely avoid-able with something to cover it.

You could also just have the microphone away from your mouth and breath to make the sound quality much much better.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKMMGYOursQ

I'm very pleased with the headphone's i bought and would strongly recommend them to anyone. These headphone's are very high quality when compared to cost which is what i believe you are looking for.
