Multiplayer is a must for you in TESO?

I know this question might appear weird for an MMO, but personally (and I know a lot of people that think similarly), I would have bought TESO if it was like Skyrim, may be with a small option for multiplayer. I guess it boils down to know if PVP or collaborative playing is a must for you, or you would still be happy if Tamriel would be single player only or mainly single player.

If people want single-player Elder Scrolls there are many out there, and more coming.
    They are fun.
But, I also like to play with people, and compare what I have done, and what I have earned to other players.
This is "my MMO Mentality"...for better, or worse.

For the longest time I never tried PVP. Once I did, I'm having a lot more fun that I thought I would. Anyone that doesn't at least try PVP is really missing out. There's a lot of depth to this PVP that other MMO's don't have. Using siege weapons are a lot of fun and take coordinated attacks. Then you get the repair the keep from the damage done. There's also daily quests as well. It really is a lot of fun.

Well, but there aren´t: Skyrim is from 2011. And the full Tamriel experience so far you get it only in TESO.

ESO is not, and was not meant to be, Skyrim 2, Skyrim Online, or Skyrim With Friends. If you want a single player experience, then ESO is not the game for you.

Yes, it brings more life into games and I am "addicted" to Realm vs. Realm concepts since DAOC.

TES series has always been about whatever you want to do. Personally, ESO IS a game for me, since I spend most of my time there without interacting. I appreciate how alive Tamriel looks with real people, but I don´t interact much with them, only with friends from real life.

It's an mmo LoL. Geeze so many people are confused about what that actually means. I bought it because I thought Skyrim would be way better if it had multiplayer and I'm thinking I was right.

To clarify I didn't mean Skyrim Online, I think it's great that we see more of Tameriel and each race (instead of mostly focusing on just Nords). And no I hate the idea of a tacked on multiplayer.

With the amount of issues and lack of content, this game would die as a single-player game... It has little depth and the PvP is probably the only thing that keeps a lot of players suffering ZoS.... These players are probably going to quit after 1.7.

This game is not and cannot be a single-player game.

Dont get me wrong, the graphics are great, i mean your character looks really cool and detailed, but on another screen you look like low resolution gaming on pc.

I'm a fan of Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind and really enjoy ESO, but it is an entirely different sort of game from the previous titles.

I'd say ESO is not quite a role playing game - more along the lines of a medieval siege warfare game in an Elder Scrolls setting, with a fun PVP combat system.

I recommend to try joining the Alliance War in Cyrodiil, you may find it to be the most fun part of the game.

    where's the third choice?

I like that ESO is an MMO, but much can be played as if it is SP. Best of both worlds.

It's even possible to play in Cyrodill solo... I do it all the time, I have likely sneaked right past some of you on my way to scout a location, so some quests, or hit some of the delves.

I will say as a person who doesn't usually care for PVP, the warfare PVP in this game is a blast... with the right group. The biggest impediment to MP in this game is the broken GROUPing function. :(

I'm not confused. It's a game where everybody and everything is trying to kill you, and I don't just mean the monsters and bad guys built in to the game. It means that players of a higher level than me will literally make it a point to hunt down every lower level player they can find and simply slaughter them for the fun of it. Because they can. That's what an MMO is, not playing a game with friend. This MMO (and I'm assuming most MMOs) is about follow the leader and do what they say.

Sorry, I'm not a follower and I can't stand being told what to do. When I'm strong enough, I will go to Cyrodil and kill all of you!

I like that you can group with others for dungeons and quests, but I do end up getting frustrated with the play style of others when I do. I like to stealth my way through quests, take my time and pick my targets, but usually people are running through them swinging swords at everything that moves. It is those times I wish I was doing it solo, or with others that like to play the same way.

Honestly, I hope the next TES game has coop to play with only your friends. Until then, ESO is the only recent Elder Scrolls game available. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the game and play it as much as I played Skyrim.

The game is an MMO and designed around a lot of people playing at once, however I do see how some people would want to see this in an single player environment. I think it would be interesting if they did what elite dangerous does, have the game be massively multiplayer oriented but also have the ability to have private lobbies for individuals or groups of friends who don't want to deal with griefers or squeakers. But I'm sure in this game leaving it the way it is is for the best, otherwise i'm sure cyrodiil would be pretty dead.

I play it single-player for the most part anyway. The few times when I have to have a group, it's near impossible to find one. There is tons and tons of achievements and collections and such. When the combat starts to bore me, I can always find plenty of other things to enjoyably occupy my time. The 'massively multiplayer online' aspect of ESO, for me, is essentially just having guild stores.

You can still play through 90% of the content without ever communicating or grouping with another single person. And then on consoles, you don't even have text chat to start with so there's an even bigger feeling of seclusion.

Since I never have played MMO, I guess I'm confused what MMO actually is actually.

Thus far it just seems like hordes of other players wandering around getting in everybody's way.

Even in groups, it's impossible to keep track of who's where and what's going on. I've tried grouping a total of twice since I bought this back in June and, both times, I completely lost track of my team and there doesn't seem to be any way for me to keep track of them because there are so many other players running all over the place and just about everybody seems to look exactly the same (other than class).
