Any suggestions on what to put on my bar as a NB bow user? I am using 2H as my main weapon and can't decide what works well for my bow bar. I have heard crippling grasp works well and I definitely want to use snipe but not sure what else.

Lethal Arrow, Pierceing Mark, Double Take, Camo Hunter , Relentless Focus. Flawless dawnbreaker

This is all i run. Just mark people and snipe away.

On my 2h bar i run
cloak, mass hysteria, rally, surprize att, ambush. Soul harvest or soul tether

Once vigor is level 5 ill be switching to dual wield just because i like it better.

Why mass hysteria and suprise attack on you 2h? Suprise attack does very little damage compared to wrecking blow.

Mark and camo hunter look good, I've heard a lot of ppl use them as well.

Everything I've read shows Surprize Attack exceeds WB damage in sustained PVE battles and provides an extra 5K or so physical and magic resistance after every swing.

Wrecking Blow can have more spike damage but the long animation can cause issues as well.

I use a similar setup and when I start from range and close with ambush, many times I'll find a permablocker and use Mass Hystaria to drop his blocking so I can finish him off. Also good if I need a moment to disengage and get back into stealth.

Yup, I agree, Surprise Attack puts Major Fracture (armor/spell resist reducer) on the enemy, is an instant attack (unlike Wrecking Blow), activates the Shadow Barrier passive for yourself (gives you up to 5k armor/spell resist for 4 sec's anytime a shadow ability is used), does alot of damage and when using Shadow Cloak (and it's morph's) can stun the enemy upwards of 4.6 sec's.

In PvP if you can get Wrecking Blow off, then it is conceivable to one-shot someone, but Battle Spirit will be lowering damage at -50% on the next big update, so one-shots are going to be more than likely a thing of the past unless you are a VR16 and the other is a very low leveled Veteran..

Does fracture go off without being in stealth? The way I read it it sounds like you only get fracture if you are in stealth, or is that only the stun? It's really confusing how they word it.

Anyone else have any suggestions? Or is this the typical bow build for nightblades?
  • tonyanderson09b16_ESO
I had a go at bow I find it to be a stop and dot type skill. It just doesn't have much power. Think it's a good second bar for PVP but in PVE anything out does the bow

@Azalin76 Here's what I run on my Bow NB:

Venom Arrow-- The interrupt is invaluable.

Snipe-- Not sure which morph yet, both look good.

Magnum Shot-- Very nice for putting distance between you and a charging target.

Bombard-- love it, one my favorites. AoE that causes immobilization for a few seconds.

Scorched Earth-- don't always have it on bar, situational. Requires enemies stay within radius, so some kiting is involved.

Evil Hunter-- actually don't have Expert Hunter morphed to this yet, but heard it's good.

Reaping Mark-- don't have unlocked yet, but looks extremely promising for a good self-heal

Relentless Focus-- don't have, but looks interesting for the stamina regeneration

Funnel Health-- self-heal. Honestly wasn't impressed with Swallow Soul, so switched morphs for healing allies

Power Extraction-- again, don't have but this looks more promising than Cripple to me.

Obviously, I don't have all of these skills on my bar at once; I mix and match the ones I have and plan on trying out the ones I don't currently have. So far I keep Venom Arrow, Bombard, and Snipe on my bar at all times, as well as Funnel Health for the mediocre self-heal. Almost all my points are in stamina and I run mostly medium armor with some heavy.

    Hope that helps :)

I use Poison Injection, Relentless Focus, Double Take, Mass Hysteria/Dark Cloak, Lethal Arrow.

I rotate Mass Hysteria and Dark Cloak between my 2H and Bow Bar depending on whether I'm running solo or in a Group.
