Mini Map?

Is their a minimap or is it something they will add later on. I noticed the PC version has one.

The PC minimaps are add-ons, not part of the game. I don't think there are any plans for them to add the option, although you never know.

If they add a minimap which is doubtful can we also get the ability to purchase a map that adds Skyshards/Lore books onto our map? I spent 3 hours looking for Lore books and only finding about 3 and frustrating myself the whole time. Biggest pain I've had in-game so far. Doesn't help I've randomly collected books over the last 3 weeks.

Zos$ decided in their infinite wisdom that players do not need minimaps (".)

So ofc. several minimap addons popped up instantly,since many many players want this feature that,imo,should be a basic standard feature.....

THen the mapmarker addons came afterr that

But console players are stuck with what Zo$ thinks is best I guess o.O

Yeah I used Deltia's map. Which according to my friend he is a big name in ESO? The map itself wasn't bad, but I'm already Mage's guild 4 almost 5 and every book I went to was already obtained. Doesn't help the icons on the maps were huge blogs instead of small dots so to find the exact locations weren't always easy.
Now Skyshards are easy to find with maps or guide videos, but Lore books I will never find entirely, at least not on my character I want them on. Easier to just start from scratch so I know each map blob I don't have yet.
I think you need all books for Mate's Guild 10 right?

You already have a compass on your UI.

Sure it's not round and you can't see the landscape around you from bird sight (man, you really have to look where you're going!), but it's indeed another form of a minimap.

I avoided using a minimap addon for a few months when I first started playing the game. Then I tried one and I liked it at first. After a month, I realized that it was taking away more than it was giving because now the beautiful 3D environment was now marred by this grotesque rectangle, so I removed it forever.

Also add anything Garkin related to your addon folder. A miracle worker, that one is, with lorebooks, skyshards, etc.

Lorebooks can be tough as they are in all kinds of out of the way places. As you are going thru the landscape, get off the roads and check those little camps and things that are scattered about, you'll find some there. No you don't need to get them all for mages guild 10 and there are multiple copies of them on the maps (3 or 4 of the same book in different places).

I really like the minimap idea. Tired of stopping to open my map all the time. Seems like something that should have already been in the game. I played pc and loved the add ons. Honestly, I dont need to have all the skyshard, lorebook, boss etc locations marked as I can look them up. I really would love to see it show on the map after you have collected the shard or lorebook so you don't end up back tracking. Quest markers would be nice too as well as a clock on the minimap with tamriel time.

Stop asking for stuff to be added for a cost in the crown shop! This is ridiculous, people cried about a monthly subscription only to want anything and everything in the crown store so they can, in the end, spend more money (per year lets say) than what the sub would have cost (again, per year) on average.

The addon is for PC and free so I'd rather see addon support come to consoles than pay for such trivial things but look up on Google and you can find maps for skyshards and lorebooks and it's FREE and does the same thing!

I was actually meaning an in-game character similar to the bag merchants that sells Map markers for gold. I wouldn't pay real money for map markers that's a rip.
I probably should have clarified in my earlier post.

@LadyDestiny Yes, if it showed which books I've already collected I would be fine. The fact that I've been exploring the world I've already stumbled across many Lore Books and following the maps leads me to places where I've already collected the Lore Books. Frustrating.

Just add the minimap and give the option to remove it in settings. Is that so hard?

When I play games with minimaps, I tend to watch them like a hawk.

With this game and its compass, its not as easy, sure, but I've noticed I am paying far more attention to my surroundings, and enjoy it quite a bit.

To be fair, I don't use the mini-map add-on, but my wife does. I'm more of an explorer, which drives her nuts when we're playing together ... she's much more of a "do the next thing" person.
