Your Vampire Character

Hey, I've been a Vampire now for almost a year tho always a different character. I remember that I always enchanted my rings and necklace with both fire resistance and health regen to balance the weaknesses a bit but now I ask; is that even worth it? 40% fire weakness is still there and considering I had 2 legendary glyphs of fire resistance, I thought it can cancel the dmg a bit.
So what's your opinion on legendary fire resistance and health recovery glyphs on vampire? Do you consider it a must as a vampire?

Also, what set do you consider to suit vampire? I used to use a lot Song of Lamae and Vampire's Kiss. I'd say that Vampire's Kiss is perfect for PvE as it heals the player constantly and you don't need to worry about health recovery that much anyway. And Song of Lamae seems to be more of a PvP thing or 1v1 matter since it damages one attacker and heals you immediately.
Which set do you use as a vampire or do you not care about being a vampire and you simply use different sets for other purposes?

Worth it to have one with Legendary enchant, most definitely, unless you are very good at getting out of the way.

I don't wear mine consistently anymore (see #2 above), but there is some content where you will notice a difference when you have it vs when you don't.

Edit: Regarding sets, there is not a Vamp specific set.

There are Vamp specific not-sets, though.

Anything you get + Health Recovery on is effectively reduced 75% = worthless benefit.

The one set that should make the most sense Vampire's Kiss is least useful for Vampires because of this...

If you're a dark elf, only one fire resist enchant should be needed unless you're a tank in which case 2 will be fine. Otherwise, 2 will suffice or 3 if you're a tank.

Also, health regen buffs aren't what you're looking for when it comes to survival as a vamp. what you want instead is some self-heals. keep a resto staff as your alt weapon or if your class has multiple heals use those. Drain and swarm are effective self heals as well but are unreliable as drain doesn't work on bosses and swarm requires 3+ enemies near you to be effective.

Fire resist jewelry has become nearly worthless. I don't even bother with it anymore tho I have it stashed away in the hope that one day ZoS will come to their senses and stop hating vampires.

Merlin13KAGL, I was ofcourse refering to sets that would benefit vampires the most. Such as Vampire's Kiss and Song of Lamae.
From reading your guys' posts I have mixed feelings. I play Imperial DPS DK so I suppose I should get at least one legendary fire resistance enchant, right? And as for health recovery, I understand that if I was to gain +100 Health recovery, it would only add +25. I was just trying to get the number a bit higher than let it sit down on 20 or smthing. I managed to get my health recovery to 119 through sets and such.

So my questions remain: Do you try to balance vampires' weaknesses by enchantments and/or do you wear specific sets that provide you with let's say increased healing taken, more health, increased health recovery, etc? Also, what is your vampire strategy in PvP? Right now I am using 1H+Shield/Bow, once I level these two to 50 and its morphs too, I will switch to Dual Wield and Resto Staff.

I don't use any and have completed vcoa and vdsa and hel ra with no major issues.

No need for enchants. No need for vampire specific armor.

What you need to do is put CP into Elemental Defender, to reduce fire dmg taken. Than once you're done leveling, get some armor with nirnhoned trait. Than you wont notice being a vampire, unless you stand in fire siege for days without using Purge and similar.

As far as PvE goes, last stage in VDSA probably hurts. But dont think you'll notice it much elsewhere. I haven't.

Might also want to boost Hardy with Champion points(and use even more expensive nirnhoned on gear). Fighters Guild skills will kill you a lot more than fire dmg in PvP. Bugged Camouflage Hunter procc'ing like mad right now, so everyone is using it with Caltrops and sneak attacks. Dawnbreaker crits can 1 shot vampires, unless you have some resist against magic dmg.

Ive tried fire resistance glyps, but it doesnt help. It sucks to be vampire for sure, theres sone vet dungeons, whatever you do you cant avoid getting 1-shotted, or in Cyrodil, two siege hits, and you're toasted. Especially City of Ash is fire dungeon, where the best loot comes.

your doing something wrong i dont use these glyphs or any special armour and dont have these problems.

Did CoA without dying as a vampire very easily. Also did vDSA as a vampire and had no issues with the final boss, fire damage wise.

If you are having issues there are a few things you can do:

1. Put champion points into Elemental Defender under The Lady constellation.

2. Class shields; hardened ward for Sorceror; obsidian shield for DK are two examples. You can also use Harness Magicka under the Light Armor skills.

3. Pay attention to your surroundings. A lot of vampires that die to fire damage, that I witness, is because they simply do not move.

I thought the flame weakness was reduced to like 40%? Before that it was 50%.

As a vampire, the fire weakness was of less concern to the health regen at stage 4. I remained at stage 4 for the massive reduction of the cost of the vampire ultimate. So I would suit up with sets that boosted my health regen, or would do a quick bubble heal when I fall low on health.

Tl;dr, if it was up to me I would simply wipe all vampires and werewolf off of the Nirn. Seriously though it's A drag to see all these people asking for bites on console..

Dunmer DK vamp, dont care about the weaknesses
Dunmer = build in fire resis
DK = GDB baby

I've balanced my DK Vampires fire weakness with my Dark Elf/Dunmer Racial traits which gives increased fire resistance in 3 stages.

I am a dunmer vampire NB,

I dont run any resist fire enchantments.

I'm a breton vampire sorc (I've been a vampire for 4 months so far), I've never had any equipment with fire resistance, I think it's worthless. I have only 7 champion points in Elemental Defender, in hard situations I always use hardened ward. And I also did veteran CoA without dying. In my opinion if you're a vampire for a pretty long time you are used to fire damage and you can survive without 'superspecialthingsforvampires'.

Well said, if you have weaknesses and disadvantages for a long time you get used to them. Btw, how many points do you guys have in Elemental Defender? IIRC mine is at 3.6 resistance or so - btu I don't know how many points is that... 5 maybe? 4? idk
would you prefer to put everything you can into elemental defender? Right now I can use 12 points in each 'tree'.

I have 18 in elemental defender aiming for 25 in both resistance but am doing that on all my chars. my vampire one is a breton nb depending on what I'm doing dd or heals i wear 4/5 martial and either 5 healer or 2 cyros light 2 adroitnes 2 skoria. all my jewlery is either spell damage or reduce spell cost enchanted.

As you can see by these achieves I have not found fire an issue
