Reaper’s March
•Giant snakes will no longer respawn in as large of numbers as they did previously in Thormar.

I've played thru Reaper's March numerous times. You know what has been a real problem? Broken quests. Yeah, having to abandon and restart the Two Moon's quest every time I play thru Reaper's March is a pretty major deal. Snakes? Not much of an issue.

Let me guess, someone figured out a way to use them to grind some XP or materials so that was THE MOST IMPORTANT FIX EVER and broken quest mechanics (which have been borked for a year or more) don't rate. Wonderful sense of priority at Zenimax.

Agreed, also with the VR rank changes, reduced xp required to rank up and so on.

if it was an XP nerf then grrr. if not then keep in mind that it may have been a 2 sec fix and you cannot correlate fixes to priority without more info. ZOS should save us from our imaginations in such situations, as it has greater chance to work in their favor. not their style though

Bolded the most probable reason. ZoS spends more time breaking working things than fixing broken things. You'd think this was a government contract and not a consumer service.

They have revamped the tutorial area numerous times, revamped several aspects of the main story which quite honestly cannot even be concidered the backbone of the game. If anything it's like a pinky finger, no one likes it when it is missing but it doesn't actually keep you from doing anything without it.

It was the best place for EP to grind out the last 4 VR levels. But due to the recent popularity I guess they figured they needed to nerf it. So pro tip to the PvE community, the delves in cyrodiil are great places to grind out levels :-)

I don't understand why they continue to nerf grind spots, when it's grinders that are more likely to buy XP pots/scrolls.

I heard recently (somewhere) that with an upcoming patch, they are going to be increasing quest/dungeon xp so that it's on par with grinding. So that was a step in the right direction.. so I thought. I figured maybe they finally decided to wise up and stop fighting players that only want to get to max level for endgame content. Agree or disagree, they are paying customers and lets face it, the Vet Ranks are pretty tedious to get through when you are on your 2cnd or 3rd alt.

But after reading this patch note about grinding snakes, it makes me wonder if they really just don't have any clear goal in mind and simply knee-jerk react to various individual situations.

They seem to be reactive rather than proactive. Maybe that is the name of the game, but if you are only reacting, then you will always be one step behind.

Called exploring, taking your time and role playing! You have heard of these things right?

I know role players that will actually walk in town once they get there. Yep they play the game their way and because when you look at the game it actually is a great role playing game.

Didn't zos say something along the lines of "we didn't have that in mind [grinding] when we made the game"? With all of their nerfing, they seem to be expressing that they consider grinding as a borderline exploit.

Yep they are right on size "approximately 5GB for English, 6.5GB for German, and 7.4GB for French" at least we didn't have to wait for servers to come up to get it. That is a small plus.

Perhaps. But being close to an exploit doesn't make it an exploit. And the sheer number of paying customers that prefer this method of leveling cannot be ignored. There is a message in the fact that such a huge number of players prefer to grind. And that message is that an alarming number of customers find Vet leveling tedious. Turning a blind eye to those customers doesn't solve the problem. It only eliminates potential revenue that could be used for future content.

Plus there are a ton of people (myself included) that enjoy both methods of leveling. I sometimes feel like questing, and I sometimes feel like mindless grinding. Reducing viable options only succeeds in reducing the game population. Which is bad for all of us.

You know, you're right to bring up Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Those games only got bug fixes from the hard work of players DEV mods! Players of those games have made a lot of nice size mods that fixes tons of bugs and content! So why should we expect the company to fix bugs in ESO? Sadly we players can't make our own bug fix mods for this game. It's my opinion that the issues is company wide, and that points to the upper admins. The core of a company always reflects the upper admins.
