(PS4) Might buy ESO. Questions...

A lot of my friends are playing and I'm mainly playing Witcher 3. I already pre-order; NHL(sept), Fallout(nov) and The Division(TBA?). So I'm sure those 2 games will keep me busy.

*Is there an end-game?.
* Can you raid and get tier gear?.
*Is it one big open map (e.g Azeroth vs Kalimdor), or loading screens in each new zone?.
* On a casual 1, to Hardcore 5, where would you rank PVP+PVE?
*Is it Pay 2 win?. I see you can buy currency...
*Are their player/guild housings or at least a big trade chat city?. (e.g Stormwind/Org)
*Is it just fetch and grind quests? (Kill 10 guys, and Find 10 items).
*Do you think it could be a game I can invest tons of time, even buy an expansion in the future (IF I like the game)
* Is Crafting complex or good

Any pros and cons about the game?.
I already bought the game on amazon as we speak but do have the option to cancel it.

End game? Yes, veteran dungeons after 50 (heroics) 12 person trials after vet rank 10.
Zoning between main areas, but the zones are decent sized.
It can be casual or hardcore, however you want to play.
Not pay to win at all, the currency you buy is used for cosmetic items.
No housing, no text chat atm, but with the outcry for it it will be put in.
Quests are more varied than in wow, fun for the most part.
Crafting is complex and can make some of the best items in game.

I played beta on pc over a year ago and not again til ps4. I will probably play a long time.

Yes there is end game. Yes there is raid gear. No, it is not an open map, there are different zones and load screens. It's not pay to win yet. No player housing or guild halls. Yes, a lot of fetch and grind. Crafting is mind numbingly easy.
Can't find the items you are looking for? Need a place to trade? We welcome ESO players of all platforms at ESO Trade, the home for trading of goods and services in the lands of Tamriel.

I dont think that its pay2win. Due to the fact that you can get half of the stuff without paying real money

Likely I will repeat answers already given, but my 2 cents may hold something new. Or not.
    *Is there an end-game?.
Cyrodiil and Craglorn are endgame content, the former accessible at Level 10 and the latter at Level 50. Craglorn is geared towards group play and Cyrodiil is PvP enabled. Both can be explored solo with a well built character and skilled player behind the screen. In Craglorn are Trials, both 12-man and 4-man, which cannot be soloed.
    * Can you raid and get tier gear?.
    There are 4 Trials ingame at present, 3 12-man and 1 4-man.
A brief google of "tier gear" points to WoW and it sounds like Sets here in ESO.

Sets are either crafted, dropped, or bought items that are part of a set. Wearing more items of the same set provides increasing bonuses, with the 5 item effect being unique and powerful (i.e. Get a damage shield for 40% of your max HP when HP drops below 30%). Dropped and bought sets are what they are, you have to build around them if you want to use them; crafted sets can be any style, any level, any [craftable] item, allowing you to conform those to your build rather than the other way around. As to which is better, it depends entirely on your build and playstyle. Bonuses differ, so the rarest drop set may not have the bonuses you want while a common crafted one does.
*Is it one big open map (e.g Azeroth vs Kalimdor), or loading screens in each new zone?.
The world is divided into zones, but each zone is rather large. Eventually you develop a "procedure" to exploring them, but your first zone (excluding starter islands) should take a couple weeks to a month to explore, if you choose to.
    * On a casual 1, to Hardcore 5, where would you rank PVP+PVE?
Solo PvE: 1 - step above faceroll easy
Group PvE: 3 - requires an understanding of mechanics, but not mastery
Endgame PvE: 3-4 - varies in difficulty, either being Group difficulty or Trial difficulty
Trial Endgame: 4-5 - not all groups can clear them, and for a couple Trials, only a few can; the 4-man Trial is the toughest content ingame
*Is it Pay 2 win?. I see you can buy currency...
It is not Pay 2 win, with Crown Store (Cash Shop) items being limited to mounts, pets, costumes, respecs, and consumables. All Crown consumables are weaker than crafted equivalents. Respecs can be purchased with ingame gold. Mounts all have the same functionality, so they only differ in appearance and animations.
*Are their player/guild housings or at least a big trade chat city?. (e.g Stormwind/Org)
In the second of each alliance there is a capital city where players gather. Zone chat is usually bustling with players searching for everything from parties to items to new guild recruits. There is no trade channel, but players have founded cross-alliance trade guilds.
There is no player/guild housing, but there is considerable demand for it, so ZOS may add it in the future.
*Is it just fetch and grind quests? (Kill 10 guys, and Find 10 items).
All dialogue (ALL) is voice acted, with a rich 5 millennia of written and verbal lore to back it up. Quests have a story to them, but if you skip it they may become tedious. Most quests are linear, so repeating them on an alt can be boring.
*Do you think it could be a game I can invest tons of time, even buy an expansion in the future (IF I like the game)
Yes. I have clocked 102 days on a single character in the one year I have played ESO. The hook is there if you like the game.
    * Is Crafting complex or good
Crafting is menu based, with crafting passives affecting chances of success in item improvement and generation of improvement items on item deconstruction and raw material refinement. Improvement success can reach 100% with enough improvement items on hand, eliminating the risk of it. Crafting an item also allows you to choose an auxiliary trait (increased armor, reduced sprint cost, increased enchantment effect, etc.) and style. There are currently 15 craftable styles in game: Breton, Redguard, Orc, Nord, Argonian, Dunmer (Dark Elf), Khajiit, Bosmer (Wood Elf), Altmer (High Elf), Primal (Goblin), Barbaric, Ayleid (Ancient Elf), Imperial and Dwemer (Dwarven).

Consumable crafts each have a different feel to them, with enchanting and alchemy being about experimenting with raw materials to discover combinations and provisioning being about finding and memorizing recipes for a very ridiculous amount of food and drink (there are at least 3 types of max level food that confer the same stat bonuses. Variety.).

    Thanks everyone.
I've been doing some research and in WoW I prefered my Rogue and Warlock. Is there a combo that I could put together that maybe has Rogue feeling, but also has some magic so it's not just Hack n' Slash.

My friends are all new and they said they all play on Ebonheart

Classes are not equipment restricted, nor skill restricted (barring the three class skill lines). There are 6 weapon lines, 3 armor lines, 3 guild lines, 3 world lines, 2 alliance war lines, and 6 crafting lines, so there is a lot of freedom in builds. Any class can perform any role. Classes serve more as specializations, something you will be naturally good at rather than something you are restricted to. You can choose to pursue that specialization or do something different, bringing that natural affinity to your chosen role.

Dragonknights specialize in being tanky. Like the name implies, they have fire based class skills and dragon-esque toughness.

Templars specialize in support. They are the only class with native healing spells (other classes can wield a Restoration Staff or use certain Alliance War skills), but are pretty versatile overall. Takes some skill to unlock their non-healing potential.

Nightblades specialize in stealth. Stealth is available to all classes, but Nightblades have an affinity for it. Their skills center around surprise attacks, weakening opponents, and playing mind games. Closest to the Rogue archetype you want.

Sorcerers specialize in magics. They have a variety of lightning based offensive and defensive spells, coupled with conjuration (summoning). They are inherently focused on Magicka, but a Stamina focused build is still possible. Closest to the Warlock archetype you want.

Again, after a quick google of WoW Warlock, Nightblades are likely closer to what you want. Sorcerers wield magic and summon minions, with a few AoE spells at hand. But Nightblades use "dark" magics and have access to the Fear status ailment. Nightblades can be simple gankers, ambushing from stealth and killing in the blink of an eye, but well played ones are terribly mobile and f* with people's minds.

edit: I have a specific example of Nightblade trickery in mind: a well played one can lure players off cliffs through use of knockback CC and limited teleportation coupled with knowledge of the terrain and player habits.

I neglected to mention Battle Level in reference to Cyrodiil. It is on by default and boosts your stats to on par with max level players while in Cyrodiil. It is essentially a means to reduce the level gap. The skill point and player experience gap is still there, but the statistical gap is less noticeable.

A recent thread titled Kitesquad™ Vol. 1 - ESO Small Scale PvP (PC) gives a good idea of what Nightblades and Sorcerers can do in PvP. It is a group of 4, 2 Nightblades and 2 Sorcerers, with the recorder being a Nightblade.
