I would say you were replaced, rather than kicked. Other trading guilds never asked their members for a donation, like The Witchers for example, they don't ask for donations and if someone is willing to donate it's on voluntairy base. And yet still they have a trader in Craglorn on a toplocation.

Every large trading guild, The Witchers included (I am a member of The Witchers too), enforces this exact same policy. If you do not contribute then you will be replaced over somebody who does.
