Has anything been said about hiding armour pieces?

Pardon me, console noob, coming through!

One of the few small nit-picky things that bother me in this awesome game is some of the armour pieces that some think look bad or just plain wrong. I'm happy we get to hide our helmet and show off our faces without compromising protection, but I get bothered by those hip plates and some shoulder pads.
I wasn't too bothered by these things at the lower levesl, say up to 20, but it seems the better the armour gets, the more bulky and frilly it gets, which makes my nightblade look not-so-stealthy.
If we had the option to hide these pieces, like our helmets, then I'd be so happy!

Before anyone says "Use the search engine!", I have and found a few topics from the past but I really want to know if Zenimax has acknowledged this in any way.

It's not gamebreaking, I can play the game just fine, but it's just a small cosmetic thing that bothers me that I and other players.

Not that I can recall, sorry.
I know many of us would like to hide the hipflap things.

@Heromofo Funny, when I did a search it didn't come up with that, and it's pretty recent.
Edit: Of course I'll upvote it :)

I also forgot to mention about the whole "two versions of the same armour piece" problem. I don't know much about developing games, but I can't see that being a massive problem. Making new chest pieces to have optional hip pieces couldn't be hard to make in a patch.

Indeed bud i cannot stand the hip armors dangling and would like to see it as well.

But it is Zenimax so who knows what they class as *too hard and not worth the time*.

I just wish they did like DCUO, where whenever you collect a certain piece of armor, you are granted a 'style'. Then you could go into your character's equipped gear and change the appearance of each equipped piece to any 'style' that you'd previously collected. This allowed MUCH more customizability and options for players to create their own, personalized character.

I really hate that the higher you go, the worse IMO the gear looks. I understand the whole, "if you're half-naked you shouldn't expect to be full armor rated", but this is a game, we should be able to create a fully armored half-naked character if we want to.

Yeah Transmorgrifier in wow offered something similar and i really enjoyed always wearing the gear I wanted.

I concur, those hip things are why I went with Breton robes instead of Bosmer--Breton does has a book instead, but that doesn't bother me so much. I will note that Ancient Elf and I believe Altmer epaulets don't have the bits and pieces hanging off the shoulders, and Primal gloves don't have elbow pads.

Unfortunately, the hip flaps are part of the chest piece and thus not a separate slot that could be toggled. Despite the fact they must know by now that we hate the things, they still insist on keeping them. The fix would be a two-minute job in whichever 3d program the modelling devs use to remove them from the chest armour mesh. It would make a lot of people happy, including me. I like a streamlined look to my characters, with armour that enhances their body shape, and I hate those hip flaps with a passion!

Shoulders are a separate biped slot, so would be easy enough to insert a similar piece of code as the hide helmet one.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.
