What happened to Legerdemain items?

Two days ago I went to the enchanter table in Rawl'kha and thought, since I'm already in the area, why not going for a short round and steal some items? I had a longer break of doing my daily rounds/routes, and now when I wanted to do it once more, all the containers that once contained tons of Legerdemain items now contain mostly provisioning ingredients. When did this happen?

Well, most containers seem to be for the purpose of storing provisioning ingredients. Cabinets, cupboards, and crates and barrels. You have to go for nightstands and wardrobes mostly for the fence loot.

Its RNG. There is an area I hit with some of my characters that I can pull 250 to 300 items out of each trip (stacking provisioning mats is the reason for that). Some days I get a decent haul of Legerdemain Loot, some days I get mostly provisioning mats.

However, if your goal is to level Legerdemain, mats are better anyway as they stack and you can haul more of them to the fence. You get one point whether it is a Purple item or a 0 gold provisioning ingredient, the price does not matter. If your chasing the achievements for how much money you make/spend, then you might want a different strategy.

I launder the mats that I want, then sell the rest. This also effectively doubles your Fence limits as the limit is on both the Fence for the full amount and the Launder for the full amount, not both combined. So, at a 120 item limit, I can get 240 Legerdemain points each trip. If I do this every 48 hours, I can get 480 points in one day.

Note, you can get the containers to reset by going into then out of the Refuge (as it's a rezone in essence) and then go back and see what is in the containers. At least I can in the city I usually steal from, which is not in Reaper March.

Some people on the consoles are reporting that the respawns in Reapers March may not be working correctly.

Thanks for your replies, @Thymos and @Nestor :)

The thing is, my main maxed the skill line already and the other characters are not far from max, I just wanted to go for a stealth round once more with another character (in the same town like my main levelled it).

What I meant was that all the containers in which I previously found tons of Legerdemain items (f.e. in the crates and barrels around the enchanter table) now contain ingredients. I did find ingredients there before, but at least half of these containers, if not more, were filled with the items to steal (non-ingredient). Now I find maybe 1 in 10 containers and was wondering if these items were reduced at some point.

I would try any other place but Reapers March before making any conclusions. I never found Reapers March to be all the good for decent stolen loot.

Although the upstairs of the Inn was decent enough.

Ok, I'll do that, maybe you're right. Thanks for your advice :)

It's random, just keep checking, or pick pocket and loot chests in shops and taverns.
