Hey guys/gals I'm planning on creating an alt so i dont power past my friend in levels and quests, and seeing as my main is a mage id like to roll a melee stamina character. I'd like some suggestions as im having a hard time picking one due to every class starting off with skills that use magicka instead of stamina. i like the style of the nightblade but the squishyness really really puts me off. If you guys could give me a few suggestions that would be awesome!

Redguard stamina Templar - very good dps, self healing, soloable, can also off-tank. If imperial you can also respect to magicka healer if you get bored.

Hmm sounds good but is it viable for pvp aswell as pve? Heard from a lot of people templar is the worst class for pvp unfortunately :/

Well I hate to break it to ya but there is not a race/resource/class/role combo that is 100% viable in all endgame content. You'll have to compromise somewhere. But no Temps are not the best in PvP not because of damage but because of mobility. Most pvpers don't want to touch it without a NB or sorc. Sorc will almost always be magicka however.

Your best bet if you want to be melee stamina and PvP is NB, imperial, wood elf or Redguard. They can be good PvE dps and tank. But are not great at self healing.

Stamina options do not open up until higher levels with Stamina morphs for some class abilities and a greater selection of Weapon abilities. For melee-oriented classes with self-healing, Templar and Dragonknight are your options. Templar can offer some of the best support for group activities and takes a lot of fine tuning to make a powerful solo build. I have built a Stamina Breton Templar for PvP that trumps a lot of competitors, but it lacks in high mobility, like @Cuyler mentioned. Dragonknights lack evasive mobility, but the Dragon Leap ultimate gives them offensive mobility, if that counts.

To make either class successful solo in PvP you need to either use Dual Wield and/or Bow for mobility (Quick Cloak (Blade Cloak morph) and/or Hasty Retreat (passive)) or build upon your in-class healing and mitigation to stand your ground.
I built upon the Templar's mitigation to be successful.

For PvE, all classes are viable with enough player skill. Some focuses (Magicka/Stamina) are harder to pull off on certain classes, but all are possible.

Thankyou for the informative response! So i think its going to be a redguard nightblade then. Ive seen alot of people using two hander and bow instead of dual wield. Is that something you would recommend?

Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

    Hey Stevey!

Looks like its been a pretty good discussion so far about the melee stamina builds. OzJohnD mentioned DeltiasGaming, I can't stress how amazing this guys builds are... I've rolled an Imperial Templar Duel Wielder (Harvester Build) and am around level 30 now.

PvE, this thing kills it! It's never short of stamina, hardly touches magicka (the Templar's Focus Charge skill is the exception), and the best part about it is Repentance. Super satisfying to see all the dead enemies around you (PvP as well) being used to charge your health and stamina.

In PvP, Deltias showed some end game setups that reeked havoc with huge DPS and good survivability vs larger groups.

No argument that the Dragonknight still comes out on top in PvP though...

ZoS did indicate that the Templar will be getting a little love at some point, but we could be waiting a long time for that... Kinda like a fixed group finder tool!

    Hope that helps!

TLDR - DeltiasGaming is all you need to read for amazing builds.

Thankyou for the insight! Ive been watching deltias gaming for a while now amd while his builds are VERY good a lot of them seem to depend to much on alchemy/provisioning which isnt all that hard to level but with me being on ps4 its hard to get specific recipes unfortunately :/

I will still have a look for a few ideas, i made a redguard nightblade so this shouald be fun :)
