Poll or Thread

When discussing a topic, in This ESO Forum, which would you prefer?

1. A poll that shows relatively accurate numbers due to each member/account being able to vote only once...and members can leave comments as well.
or
2. A thread that can be spammed to the point of being so long that valid points get lost and it becomes utterly useless?

Please stop closing POLLS and directing Players to a Thread that is USELESS.

I believe both are great; since a thread with a poll acts as both a poll and a thread, why not have both.

That of course is assuming the poll is not trolly garbage; like all the answers actually support the same thing...lol...

POLL

Clean, clear cut polls are generally better. Especially the longer a thread has gone on....After 2-3 pages you might suffer brain melt reading the responses. ( I may have contributed to brain melt responses )

There is much truth in this.

One can dig into page after page if they are interested in the details; but the poll gives a nice break down at a glance in the OP.

For example, you can see things like 91% are in favor of adding a certain feature; then look into the thread to see why people feel that way, if you are so inclined.

Because it's argumentation that makes a valid point - or not, not the quantity of answers.

And 95% of the polls are presented in a biased way - including this one.

Threads too often devolve into stupidity but can still be entertaining and even informative or thought provoking.

Polls are so often misunderstood and attacked for it that they become useless as an information source even when they are simple enough for a 6 year old. For the last time people, a poll, by it's very nature, is biased in some fashion but it is still what it is and nothing else.

Uuuummm...how is giving three totally different options to select from "biased"?

It doesn't give you...
1. Polls
2. Polls werks betterz!

...as options.
Like I have seen TOO many times in truly "biased" polls.
Are you sure you know the meaning of the word "biased"?

Plus, the actual "poll" in this poll isn't what this poll is about.

There does seem to be an issue with creating polls that don't amount to

a.) Yes, because I am a well informed individual

b.) No, because I am a numpty

But it is nice to gauge a community reaction without having to wade through several pages of cynicism.

This seems like a fault of the poll creator, not the tool itself. I see too much "blame the tool, not the user" mentality on this board; one simply needs to look into any text chat discussion to see people blaming text chat for spammers. Lol. Medium does not dictate behavior.
