I'm sad to see so many console gamers become whiny babies when ZoS is currently fixing things. Really guys? Really? Not happy that patch notes are not up? Lets call ZoS and say "hey guys, hold up on the maintenance. Put up the patch notes for what you haven't finished because there are alot of people here with entitlement issues".

Here's a thought. Go outside. Watch TV. Clean up your house. Spend time with your family.

Console gamers, really guys, come on....can we please start being more mature? Patience isn't some game that just got shown at E3, its an add on that everyone comes equipped with but most seem to forget how to use it. Just take a deep breath.

And to end it, people, to the ones saying lack of information....if that big yellow bar across the top hasn't caught tour attention about an upcoming maintenance as its been there for days, sorry about your luck. About no info on the ETA of finishing...yes, they have work to do. Quite a bit. Shame on them for trying to fix,the game and let you have a better experience.

SHAME on you ZoS, why must you fix problems in your game.

Yes, these are great at 3 am! I'm gonna go blast the tv volume so I can hear it over my vacuuming, wake my family with all the racket and we can all play monopoly till my game is playable again. .why didn't I think of this sooner!

You speak as though wanting information or clarity is a bad thing, and strictly related to console gamers like none of us have played on the PC for years through various MMO's. There certainly isn't anyone that questions maintenance times that play on the PC is there?

The fallback of saying to go outside, watch some television, and to clean up the house is abit outdated as well. While there are probably some that are sitting there refreshing their screens waiting on the game to come back up (which is certainly their right) there are others that are doing all of those things, and simply want to know when they can expect the game to come back up.

Perhaps someone only has a couple of hours to play today and simply wants to know if the maintenance will be done by then, is that such an oddity?

    I think not.

We understand that zenimax is fixing things and probably has alot of stuff to fix. Simply adding onto their post or tossing up a simple addition to their note that says "Sorry, this is a big one and we want to get it right, there's no ETA" , or tacking on an ETA once they're closer (which they have done before), goes a long way. Its not too much to ask them (because they do have community moderators that have nothing to do with the downtime being worked on and are free to post) to show a little bit of the same courtesy that you by proxy are asking for to Zenimax.

But thank you for your contribution.

At 3 am maybe you should just go to bed.

No wanting information is not a bad thing. But whining about getting none while a maintenance is in progress is not helping matters at all.

If you have been playing MMOs for years on PC, then why would you expect so much? Why would you not have your own ETA in your mind with your vast experience of MMOs.

No I'm not saying I don't want information. I'm not saying its ok for no patch notes. What I AM saying is that when we don't have patch notes (during a maintenance), when we don't have an ETA....im saying stop whining. It seriously gets you no where. ZoS will not come down from their perch at the distressed typing of a person who is sad they cannot play the game for a few hours. Be happy that problems are being fixed. Ask a PC player how nice and friendly ZoS has been to this console crowd.

I was explained about ETA notices once. I used to rage at no ETA. But what happens when they are genuinely unsure, and give you an ETA...then miss the window. The rage that ensues is never pleasant.

I apologize if I offended anyone with my comment. But really guys, its just a game...one I love to play. But this is my day off from work. I woke up early to get some levels in forgetting about the maintenance. Not worried as when I play after its finished, it will be a better experience. Yes saying go outside or clean your room is age old to an argument like this...yet it still is a valid one. If you can't be productive on ESO, and whining on a forum is not productive....go be productive elsewhere, so when the game does come back up(and it will people, I promise), you guys will have more free time to play. I personally just did the dishes, vacuumed, ran the dog around the yard, and more to do. But when the game comes up...would you look at that...more time to play!

Hey folks, we don't have an ETA at this time but we'll keep you updated. Since this is our very first time performing a console incremental patch maintenance, we don't yet have a solid timeframe. As we do more of these, we'll get a better idea of approximately how long they take and be able to provide estimated timeframes.

copy n pasted from another thread. See I talk about people whining. I take 2 minutes to look around..bam. Imgo you guys asked for...in a different thread yes. But still info

Look zenimax is new to this whole online experience, so I'm not giving them a hard time for not giving out details they didn't think their player base would want to know, because I believe they genuinely don't know what to expect from us yet. Nexon, Blizzard, Webzen, Aeria, NCSoft, and countless other big hitters in the pc gaming industry already know what to expect, thusly we get estimated times (even if they are wrong times, i.e Nexon saying its 6 but its really 8), and patch notes before the server even goes down. ZO will get the hang of it soon i have no doubt of that.

So what you are suggesting if something is broke, let it stay broke? If customer service and/or communication is poor let it stay that way?

Instead of being mean spirited you should focus on promoting a solution or providing positive feedback.

I am in favor of Zenimax to start utilizing their server page during sign on. Something simple as "on this date downtime will occur and ETA, if have one, will be as such".

Everybody has to go to that page to sign on to the game. If a person chooses to ignore reading it, well... that's on them.

There are numerous times I am on a road or the interstate, there is a sign posted saying "such date" construction will begin.

    It is called courtesy.

I almost wonder if the mods here are not allowed to keep us informed.

Before I click on that link, could someone explain reddit to me? Is it like facebook, or tweets, or a normal website? Sorry, I'm ignorant of social media websites.
I think the developers are doing a great job of fixing things so far, but I would suggest putting in a message about future maintenance/patch/update times on one of the screens during the login process. Not everyone visits the internet to look up info about games they play (though I do and was aware of this.)

If it helps, I've just tried opening the game again on XB1 (EU Server) about a minute ago and promptly got told the game needs an update, which I'm doing now. Could be close...

I just think an ETA would be good PR for a game that was released a year after the PC version. Other than that apart from the odd bug here and there I've found it quite good.

Being in Europe doesn't help as it's the middle of the day when maintenance is carried out, on both servers. :(

I didn't get as far as the title screen when the message popped up. Maybe try quitting the game completely then opening it again and see if that works...

EDIT: Patch installed, started the game and the server loaded! It seems very lonely in Vulkhel Guard at the moment... :)
