Fighters Guild Level Progression

I know from reading multiple forums that, 1) having a Fighters Guild skill on your ability bar does not help to level the skill line faster, and 2) the most effective way to level the Fighters Guild line is to grind Undead and Daedric mobs.

My question is, would any level Undead or Daedra do or do they need to be at your current level or higher?

And if the answer is higher, should I go as high level as my character can handle in order to power level?

Also, I am currently level 26 Ebonheart Pact and have opted not to grind the ghosts just outside Davon's Watch and the Zombies in Serk or the Maulborn Quarantine due to a high density of players already grinding them out. Any other suggestions for alternate places in Ebonheart to do this?

You cannot power level Fighter's Guild by fighting higher level mobs. Fighter's Guild does not level by XP, but by the number of undead/daedra killed. And yes, they have to be within your level range. If the mobs are 6 or more levels below yours, you won't get credit. They can be higher than your level if you want to do that, but you will still only get 1 point per kill. You have to kill around 4,000 undead/deadra to reach Fighter's Guild rank 10.

You gain experience with Fighters Guild by…
    • Killing Undead and Daedric enemies. This is a slow but sure way to rank up with Fighters Guild. You will only receive one experience point per normal Daedra / Undead enemy killed. The number is slightly higher for tougher enemies.
    • Completing Fighters Guild quests
    • Taking part in Dark Anchor events.
Having a Fighters Guild ability slotted will also increase your rank with those skills.

thank you both, looks like I will have to devote some time to grinding them out then.

anyone know of some good places in Ebonheart to do this around level 26 or higher?

The Zombie Village (west of Mournhold) in Deshaan is always good (for general grinding as well), then Shadowfen skeleton area in the NW (near stillrise village) also in Shadowfen is Sanguine's Demense public dungeon which is packed with Daedra and has a merchant that you can sell junk to

Do the mobs at the end of Normal Volenfell count toward it? That'd be the place I'd grind, as they keep respawning. That is, if they count toward it.

@Enemy-of-Coldharbour Fighters Guild quests don't count, it's just undead/daedra and Dark Anchors.

Most of Coldharbour would do. Tower of Lies, Vile Laboratory, Village of the Lost, just off the top of my head.
