A suggested button profile for console players

Okay ZOS, you've made a great game, and I'm sure its gang-busters on the PC/Mac, but now you're in the world of consoles, and I'm here to tell you that you've made a small blunder with the button layout for the PS4. Circle is used to exit screens and its also used for execute an ability on the ability bar. So guess what, every time you're exciting and you press that circle one too many times off goes your power - super annoying. Here's how you should have set up the buttons:

Suggested Button Profile for the PS4 (taken from DC Universe Online, which has the fastest and smoothest combat system I've ever witnessed)

Square - weapon attack (melee)
Triangle - weapon attack (ranged)
Square + Triangle - weapon attack combos
Circle - exit
Cross - jump

L2 + Square - first ability
L2 + Triangle - second ability
L2 + Circle - third ability
L2 + Cross - fourth ability
L1 + D-Pad - social menu, inventory, etc etc.

R2 + Square - fifth ability
R2 + Triangle - sixth ability
R2 + Circle - consumable
R2 + Cross - trinket
R1 - block
R1 + Left thumbstick - dodge

This button assignment is fast, fluid, and minimizes the chance of powers being accidentally activated. Ultimately, you should allow consoles players to assign their own buttons, so EVERYONE is happy. Please take this post seriously. There is more than one reason consoles players use consoles: the ease of use of a controller is paramount to us, and although you have done a wonderful job with the PS4 version, the button assignment you currently have us using is a 4 out of 10.

    As someone who played DCUO for almost 5 years.... No.
    DC's mechanics wouldn't work with this game. And there's no point in over complicating something which is simple to learn and works so well already.
    There are UI elements that I'd like to see change but what you're asking for is different.
    Most weapons don't have a range attack vs a melee attack for example ;)

    The layout if fine as is. Dint get click happy when exiting. Lot simpler than them coding a button configuration for you.

    Are you sure you played DCUO, because it's been out 4 years not 5, and if you had played it you would know how awesome the combat system is? DCUO is known for having an AMAZING combat system, which is fast and fluid on consoles, and it has everything to do with the button profile. Some game makers get it right, some don't. ESO has an okay system, but not a great one.

    Of course some things wouldn't translate over perfectly. It's just a suggestion I made. They would obviously have to make necessary changes.

    The layout is not fine. If it was, you would have so many people asking for control over the button layout.

    You know what ruined DCUO? The developers listening to the forum communities "ideas" (whining and crying).

    The only button that's a bit of an inconvenience is left to swap weapons. But even that can get used too

    Orik - Nord Dragonknight
    Oromis - High Elf Sorcerer
    Ellaria Sand - Redguard Sorcerer
    Solara - Dark Elf Dragonknight
    N'guvu Mojeda - Khajiit Sorcerer
    Lady Pakura - Dark Elf Dragonknight
    Solembum - Khajiit Drafonknight

    I also had an alternative control scheme suggestion that I posted in another thread. The aim of this is to free up the face buttons for other options so the controls work a bit more like Oblivion/Skyrim, but it does mean putting the skills on combos with RB / R1. Would such a thing work?

    Skill 1 -> RB / R1 + X / Square
    Skill 2 -> RB / R1 + Y / Triangle
    Skill 3 -> RB / R1 + B / Circle
    Skill 4 -> RB / R1 + A / X
    Skill 5 -> RB / R1 + LB / L1
    Ultimate -> RB / R1 + LS / L3 + RS / R3
    Sprint -> LB / L1
    Weapon Swap/Sheathe -> X / Square
    Sneak -> LS / L3
    1st/3rd Person -> RS / R3
    Jump -> Y / Triangle
    Dodge -> LT / L2 + Y / Triangle
    Synergy -> B / Circle
    Mount -> D-pad Down
    Area Chat Toggle -> D-pad Left
    <the rest would stay the same>
