No customization for controls or UI on the consoles?

I would like to see full customization for controls and UI on the consoles patched in. Final Fantasy XIV has this, so why not The Elder Scrolls Online?

    If you are on PS4 you can re-map your controller using the tools they added in the last PS4 update.
    It works for me.
    EQUALIZE ALL PLATFORMS!
    IF ONE HAS IT...ALL SHOULD HAVE IT!

    I don't care what platform it is on...an MMORPG without Text Chat is NOT an MMORPG!

    Xbox one here. Would love to see this as well. Weapon swap on the left d-pad while using the left thumbstick to move is just not working well together. I need two thumbs because having to stop in mid combat to weapon swap is just lame......:/

    The background reason for not having custom button mapping has got something to with the multiple combinations of button presses that do something, and the fact that resetting something may unset something else inadvertently and players may not notice.

    I believe ZOS are open to adding more control scheme templates though, so if you give some specifics on what you don't like, they may be able to come up with something.

    The major concerns I have seen so far are Weapon Swap, Sprint, and Southpaw options.

    I have a suggestion that I would like feedback on, as I don't know how viable it would be due to not playing ESO on console, but I have played Skyrim and Oblivion on Xbox 360. The essence of the suggestion is to free up the face buttons for other options by putting the skills on combos with RB / R1.

    Skill 1 -> RB / R1 + X / Square
    Skill 2 -> RB / R1 + Y / Triangle
    Skill 3 -> RB / R1 + B / Circle
    Skill 4 -> RB / R1 + A / X
    Skill 5 -> RB / R1 + LB / L1
    Ultimate -> RB / R1 + LS / L3 + RS / R3

    Sprint -> LB / L1
    Weapon Swap/Sheathe -> X / Square
    Sneak -> LS / L3
    1st/3rd Person -> RS / R3
    Jump -> Y / Triangle
    Dodge -> LT / L2 + Y / Triangle
    Synergy -> B / Circle
    Mount -> D-pad Down

    D-pad Left now has nothing assigned to it, so I'm open to suggestions on that one. Maybe reverse quest cycle. Everything else would remain as it is.

    If they ever decide to add it left D-pad could be your PTT button
