NEED ANSWERS!! NPC voices and all sound effects not working

Last night we bought a BRAND new xbox one and a copy of ESOTU. It did its thing, took 3 freaking hours to download the update and game. Started playing and created my character. As soon as I started the game, character, npc, weapon and almost all sound effects DO NOT work. I can NOT hear the NPC's talk during dialogue; they don't even move their mouth. I have tried power cycling, reseting the box to factory default, rebooting, deleting game and reinstalling, making new characters, sending out customer service tickets, emailing, posting on several forums, and pretty much everything but returning the game to gamestop. I want my game to work and I want to know why I can't hear any of the dialogue or sound effects at all any point and time. What can I do besides return the game? I have tried everything and I'm feeling like this is a HUGE waste of my time and money. HELP!!!

Is this a bug or a corrupt disc?

What sound device are you using? Headphones, headset or speakers? Try checking your sound settings and unplugging anything you don't need from your Xbox (like mouse or keyboard), then unplug your sound device and plug it back in

    Don't return anything yet
I have approximate knowledge of many things.

Hey @sratengel, we wanted to ask you a few questions to help diagnose this issue -
    1. Did you participate in the console beta? If so, were all the beta files deleted before installing the full game?
    2. You mentioned that almost all sound effects do not work. Do any sounds work at all? If so, which ones specifically?
    3. Did the download of the game complete 100% before running the game?
    4. Does sound from other games/movies/apps that are played through the same audio system function as they should?
    5. Have you tried to play through the game despite the audio issues? If so, have you noticed anything else not working as you would expect (for example, quests not functioning or the UI looking abnormal)?

    1. No I did not. This xbox one is brand new with no data on it and a brand new elder scrolls with a new character. I never have used any betas.
    2. The only things that work is the music it seems and the noises (grunts, yells, etc.) the monsters make.
    3. The game was installed and updated to 100% before running. I tried this three times. Deleting all the content off the xbox and reinstalling and updating.
    4. Audio from the halo games we have and netflix and blu rays work just fine. No issues there. Just seems to be ESO.
    5. I have played at least 45 minutes every time I've tried to see if the sound would come back. I have not had any issues but a little lag and no voices and sound effects. So a total of 2 hours and 15 mins in coldharbor to no success of anything changing.

Thanks for getting back with me.

Hey @sratengel, apologies for the delay. Are you still running into this issue after today's patch? If you haven't downloaded it yet, try doing a hard restart on your machine (hold the power for about 20 seconds) then download the available patch. Let us know if that works for you!

Little off topic but I noticed you said that you were in Coldharbour and that you have just started playing the game. How have you gotten into Coldharbour after just starting the game?

And I'm sorry I could not help with your issue but I play PC. Wish you the best of luck in getting your issue solved ASAP!

I just bought ESO and I am having the exact same problem. I did a hard reset. (Hold the on/off button down for 20 seconds) Unplugged the back for 30 seconds. Them ugged back in And made sure the controller turned off also. Restarted and all is fixed for now. Hope this helps others.
