Controller options for PC?

Searched high and low for information on this, I've got a controller adaptor and my 360 controller on standby, is there any way for me to play with it? so far all I can find is add ons, and I'm a little alien to using those.

Any feedback on using a controller on the PC version would be super helpful!

Lots of people use a game pad and xpaddder (or equivalent), I don't personally know of anybody using a console controller.

Pinnacle has been the one that has worked the best. Along with a ui add on called straight jacket that tries to make the ui more controller friendly. I would also recommend pairing it with the straight jacket pinnacle controller profile because they were designed to work together. It might take a little tweaking though.

Course this will all be a moot point when ZOS finally decides to give us poor PC folk native controller support.

I have used Pinnacle, but it wasnt good enough for me to ditch mouse and keyboard. I am envious of console players as sometimes I would really like to use a controller and just kick back as I play. I really hope Devs are working on actual controller support for PC. Using the UI is not a fun experience on the controller on PC with Pinnacle or XPadder.

There are lots of pages on here to inform you how to use a controller to play on PC. I use the PS3 controller myself, but others use the 360 controller.

Xpadder is the most popular third party program used to be able to play using the controller. Pinnacle is another one. I use Better DS3 myself.

Here are the pages I found just using the search option above, some of which will give you an idea on layouts you could map yourself.

    Hope this helps.

Far too many characters to list any more.

I use my PS4 controller with the PC using DS4 and XPadder and it works perfectly fine... as long as you also have a mouse and keyboard handy. I also utilize a Logitech G13 which makes accessing frequently used keys much easier.

I recommend xpadder and the darcula profile:

Personally, I used a slightly modified version that flips the y-axis and has a little more sensitivity in the thumbsticks. But you can adjust as you like.

Have a few friends that bought the game, but their mostly Console guys. They tried the game, but hate Mouse / Keyboard. They said if there was native controller support they'd play. Their not keen on 3rd party software for things like this.

The problem I found with trying to use a controller with the PC game was that you still needed to use your keyboard to access the menus so you are always picking it up and putting it back down anyway. I purchased a Logitech G700 mouse and G13 gaming keypad with the joystick and play with the mouse on my right, keyboard in the middle and keypad on the left. Seems to work pretty well, if you're willing to invest a hundred bucks in additional hardware.

And the ability to switch between controller and keyboard and mouse without having to change settings would be grand

The dev's have already commented about working on adding native controller support, so I'm fine just waiting. Tried several addons for it, and didn't like any of them.

scroll up and down for a few dev posts.

    Thanks for this Thymos!
As I'm not immensely confident at fiddling with mods and mapping keys, I'm gonna just chill out and level with my keyboard and mouse whilst I wait for an easy flow adaptation from the devs.
