From an outside perspective, when they run about 20 people, it seems as though they're (almost) all in 5 heavy armor, have 12 people running proxy det, they blob (stack) well, move into opposing groups and use up all their resources with six or eight steel tornado spammers for execute damage once the proxies hit. There are two or three running Impulse (morph to reduce your max health), two people spamming fear with two others casting it occasionally, and there are five people capable of (though usually only two at any given time) spamming efficient purge. Their healers also position themselves so that there is always another group member between them and their opponents, or they try to get to a safe spot and spread so that they can't all be hit or cc'ed at the same time. Once they've used up all their resources, they move off, regen, and come back doing the same thing. This is the original strategy that Moon had in DiE, and it's evolved and adapted slightly over the months. It's what makes Havoc so successful (they were originally all together before a guild rift), and many of the groups who perform well do something similar.

Nexus, based on my limited knowledge (mostly from watching them and replaying video of fights where we've both won and lost, has every player falling into a niche role (there are only a few roles each with its primary and one secondary responsibility). For some people being a purge spammer, tornado spammer, or fear spammer isn't fun - you don't get to experience all that the game has to offer, though in doing so you make points, get up on the leaderboard, and get rewards. If you want to use different builds and skills then you can play solo or in a smaller gank group.

There are a number of metas or group builds/comps that work better than others. Theirs works well. They beat my group (based on even number comparisons) about 65% of the time. We often fight them knowing that we're likely to lose, though that our newer folks or those who are not yet VR14 in final gear/builds will learn from every fight. The more people you have that conform to the builds that best benefit the group, the more likely you are to win. You can be an insanely high burst single target DPS, though in the group, that will not always help.

TLDR: Have 20 proxy detonations going off at the same time with sufficient cc, followed by tornado spammers, purge spammers, a few healers, and you win vs most other groups. If you want the points, you follow the meta group composition that works best.

if you can stop a blob with your blob, you can generally kill the other blob..

Set up the Mine Version of Fear behind your group so the first blob cant run through, if they stack on you just put the mine there and get ready to burn when it triggers.

timed Mine casting is probably the best way to break a blob, 4 well placed volcanic runs when your blob is stacked on another blob is a CC that purge is not going to be able to fully break for a second. with fear mine (which has a bigger effect radius than the trigger radius) blobs can be flash CCed in and burned.

again tho this does require another blob to pull off sucessfully.
