Please remove the Zenimax reply icon for moderation posts

All too often do I venture into a thread thinking "finally, Zenimax are engaging with the community and responding to player queries and feedback!" only to find a post from @ZOS_TristanK or someone similar telling people to behave themselves. If a Zenimax employee is moderating a thread I do not need to know about it. If they are answering a query or providing feedback, I would like to know. Therefore please disable the icon for the former. Thanks

I would rather have moderation use a different icon. I very much like the icon and the fact that it goes directly to the staff post.

I ignore the ZOS icon on threads, and just use Dev Tracker. Dev Tracker doesn't include moderation posts.

In addition, the posts that are not moderating the behavior or directing to other threads should always be flagged for the Dev Tracker. It is not uncommon for them to not show up there.

Unfortunately we don't have an option to do this. The icons are tied to accounts, not posts, and many of us who moderate also offer support, where the icon is important. For instance, if my account was set up so icons didn't appear because of the moderation I do, it also wouldn't show up on this thread now that I've answered the question.

What I've noticed is that it doesn't show up when a Dev posts in a thread. That feels like a huge problem.

In fairness though Alan, there are a certain number of "Moderators" who ONLY come in and move posts/issue notices/the ban hammer. I would mention names, but that will probably only get me banned again..lol

There's a very small, very select handful of people who genuinely come in and offer real support in terms of answering questions/issues.

There is one in particular, who joined recently, and issued bans to a number of people and heavily moderated a couple of threads and generally is not liked. Now, one would assume that person is highly unlikely to come in to the forums answering questions as to why the entire game crashes when you look at a recipe.

There is really no reason why that type of "moderator" or "Assistant" should not be tied to another account style and then promoted, if deemed worthy by the Admins/corporate staff/etc to then move into interacting with the community over issues..... *shrugs*

It's a pretty standard forum staff structure.

I have also considered, many times, writing a post on this subject.

It would be amazing if they could make it more obvious when it is an 'engaging' response to a topic. I know that we already have the Dev tracker but choices choices!

Careful! Mentioning that you got banned in the past can get you banned again. Don't ask me how I know.

It seems that some of the moderators here are really powerhungry people. Not saying all of them are, but you can sure tell who the bad ones are. Maybe they got bullied in school or something?

That isn't anything that can't be changed. Awhile back it was suggested that moderator comments display a different color than dev comments or answers to questions. This is definitely something the powers that be could implement. It's nowhere near as difficult as, say, adding a new provisioning recipe to t the game... >.>

    @ZOS_AlanG
If you guys used 2 separate icons, one for moderators and one for official replies, you guys could have it sorted out. But you would have to divide the work accordingly, meaning that one set would be strictly moderators and the other for official replies. Then we the players would just look for the appropriate icon with the same software.

There is tons of technical way achieve what we are asking and like mentioned above its just basic forum moderation structural.

There should be different icons for Admins, moderator, developers, etc. It is the basics...

Im really starting to think Zos has absolutely no idea what they are doing

Edit : Did they give the forum conception contract to an external firm? And now they have no idea how to modified it? Did they did the same with the game lol feel so..

Why not add a separate moderation and developer icon then? You could even flag your replies to select the appropriate icon and even edit it if needed.

Using a flag would allow you to switch between answers and moderation without issue and could be authorized by account. It would certainly benefit the community.

    Its so simple to do...

Why do they all need a Z in the icon if there is an Icon WE KNOW its Zos.

Give admins a A in the box.

    Moderator a M..

    Developers a D

    see the patern?

And for special ppl like Gina you could put her face as mini Icon !

Now give 5000 crown for the Idea

What would happen then if a mod replied to a development question? The good thing about the ZOS team is that they all chip in to answer questions when possible. If a mod who usually moderates came in with a dev response, it might be skipped over if they had a different icon.

Huh, maybe if you guys look around you can find a developer who can make that a toggle switch for your icons? Maybe attach it to radio buttons where you select if your post is a response or a moderation. Someone put the icon there to begin with, and someone made your text default to green, how hard can it be for someone to add a few more lines of html to your interface?

Far be it from me to state the obvious but couldn't you have two forum accounts? like @ZOSAlanGMod and @ZOSAlanG_Dev?

Just saying, it's not impossible at all. There's a (actually very simple) solution, which is far from the only solution. By the way, if the thread had both dev posts and mod posts the dev icon should override ...just to answer the next question.

the issue i find is that once a thread is flagged to have moderator input. it never gets another since i'm assuming most see that and think "oh its been checked, never mind then" which kind of makes this response a little redundant since this threads had a reply
