Mail Error: You cannot communicate with that player

Hi,
I'm playing on on Xbox One and I've been trying to send a few mails to try and join a guild. However, whenever I press send I get the error message: 'You cannot communicate with that player.'
I've also been told that other players get the same error when trying to send a mail to me.
I'm in Ebonheart and the players I have been trying to send to are also in
I've tried at different times over the last couple of days and still can't send or receive mail. Can someone please let me know what is going on?

cph1972✭Thanks for the update Tristan. To clarify, I can send mail to people on my XBL friend list but if try to mail anyone who is not I get 'Error: You cannot communicate with that player.'0
