I logged in to Xbox One last night to literally hear some kid calling me every racial slur in the book because I had a leopard senche and he was new, and he was pissed off I wouldn't give it to him. He just kept screaming and screaming. =DFan Boys have been trolling on the community how great chat was going to be for consoles for a month now. Now that it's here LOLOLOL. Have fun guys, at least you may get introduced to some new music you like.......or not....maybe a new appreciation for newborn infants....or learn a second language

And this made me glade ESO PC does not have voice chat.
I will say the Xbox One feels exceedingly polished compared to the PC version. But the voice chat... it was funny to listen to, even if annoying. I was playing at 5:00am, and kept thinking "I don't know how old this kid is, but even if he's West coast, it's 2:00am... where are his parents?"Number one reason I'm SO glad I play on PC even with all of the bugs and missed deadlines.

@Sallington Along with the fact that ZOS thinks consolers are too dense to use FOV and camera center sliders.

But. All you have to do is actually leave the 'Area' Chat and youll be fine.
As soon as I logged in, I went to the starter zone, and the absolutely first thing I hear is some guy playing music through his microphone
My mind just went "*** called it" and turned off voice chat.
My first experience with voice went pretty much as I feared.
Started a new character, in the prison.
As Lyris was talking to me with quest instructions, someone shouted loudly about potions drowning her out.
This happened 3 times.
As I was wondering around looting stuff, I was looting near where Cadwell is, I then heard a muffled but loud echoey Cadwell giving someone else quest instructions that were obviously coming out of their TV speakers straight into their mike.
Finally I was ready to listen to Cadwell, I hear him say about 3 words then I hear a man and a woman shouting at each other in what I think was German, sounded like he was yelling at her while she was in another room, again drowning out everything Cadwell was saying.
Totally ruining any immersion for me.
My only choice, put player voice volume to 0 and have zero way of communication.

It is probably how they genuinely imagined it working.

I logged on into Rawl'Kha.
There was only 1 person in the bank and like 2 people in town.
Because it was so sparse I heard no voice chat haha... wife is rolling a toon on PS4 tonight though. She hasn't played the game yet.. can't wait to see her reaction to voice chat.

Strange, none of that was much different from what you I hear in area chat in the starter zones, lol.

lol, well then that takes away the argument for text chat to be added, since it's no different. [snip] Well, since they both have the same thing, then no need to add it since it will not resolve those 'issues'...... they want to get away from
Or, the 'horror stories' from VC are being grossly over exaggerated....
