Do we need separate console only forum sections?

I think yes. Console topics are already leaking in. Some of stuff is related to ESO in general but i can already see console specific threads and im pretty sure more of them will come

You see the console forums at bottom?

I'm starting to think so...unless they add in forum icons under our profiles to signify platforms.
Maybe that helps but it's still confusing

Not so bad now but once live it'll be hard to discuss in-game stuff

They need to add three new forums under "Community", those being "PC Specific Forums", "Xbox One Specific Forums, and "PS4 Specific Forums", but leave the gameplay forums as they are.

That'd clear up all the people wanting to discuss something console specific, as well as leaving this forum for discussions/mechanics that apply to all versions.

I get why they don't want to tho.
Maybe it's a start to build in console logos at the top of each thread and then an icon next to each thread that represents the platform topic.

I think that is simple approach

We definitely need Alliance War split by platform. Even NA/EU is confusing sometimes, imagine the headache when people start discussing 6 different servers.

So far only guild recruitement is separated by consoles/PC

IMO General Discussion should also have some way to separate PC and console topics, because consoles might have different problems that will require discussion and they might be completly nonexistent in PC version.

Patch notes and news? Might need too if console version will have other problems than PC.

Contest/events should have separation, its kind of obvious

The troubleshooting/help or whatever it's called will have console sections, I think many of us have developed a bad habits posting in general

Sorry guys now I understand what you should have. Under the XBox1 NA/EU PS4 NA/EU should have a general forums crafting ect another words exactly what we have and it shouldn't even be on same page as PC/MAC. That makes perfect sense.

We'll be adding console-specific forums to the Support category next week.

Console related threads are dominating General Discussion at the moment, but this is expected leading up to console launch. Afterward, this matter will start to calm down, and many of the topics currently being brought up in GD will be better suited to the Support section. Platform-specific discussion won't disappear from GD entirely, but then there have been several threads about Windows 10 in here at the moment.

We won't be adding console separation for General Discussion or other sections, as most topics are platform-neutral. Splitting them up adds some organization, but the increased granularity risks redundancy and not reaching sufficient critical mass to really sustain discussion. Last February we reduced the number of forums quite a bit when we restructured, and it's been a bit help.

In situations where someone does have a platform or megaserver specific discussion, making this clear in the title is helpful. Not everyone will do this, but people will notice that this tends to make their threads more successful.

I actually think console general chat is needed, or the moderation team need to come down on people like a ton of bricks every time someone mentions something about the console version and some PC player turns it into a "PC is better ..." discussion.

I think console specific sections (and PC specific sections) should only be for things that could only be of interest to people playing on the same hardware. So guild recruitment, tech support, suggestions for changing the UI, patch notes...things like that. What you're playing on might be relevant to other discussions but in that case players can specify themselves.

People already complain that segregating players by region and faction is one of the biggest issues in the game, I don't see any reason to segregate the forums any more than necessary.
