Age Verified Server

j.frank.nicholsb14_ESO
I would pay extra for an age verified server or instance on a server, meaning no one on the server that is below some acceptable (to me :) ) age.

I prefer not to play with people under the age of 18 myself, but as long as they act mature I don't care what their age is. I just don't tolerate any childish behavior. Its actually not as common as you might think. And when someone does become guilty of it I put them on ignore. End of story.

Actually there are some age verified instances on the MEGAserver already. One is called The Harborage.

^ This. Seriously. I'm guildmaster of a guild and am pretty sure I'm on the younger side of the age spectrum.

As well, that would be weird. We have a megaserver, would be weird to have an age verified server. I feel this is the same but different version of asking for a subscribed only server..

And this is the internet... Really.. I'm sure I'm not the only supposedly 105 year old that passes the age gate on the website.. Hah.

While I'd love to tell those damn kids to get off my lawn this is supposed to be a "Mature" (HA!) rated game to begin with. Sadly, there is no real good way to bar the kiddies, especially when there's money to be made from them whilst looking the other way.

Age has very litle to do with maturity.

I think this one of the issues in MMO, I think players would play longer if they found a guild what works for them. I love the idea of Guild Spot light, but not all want to use it.

Chat channels could be one way. Even simple music channels, like Hit, Rock, Heavy Rock, Metal, Goth, Pop, RnB, so people could find easily people they like to be with. Human race is racist, sooner devs learns it, the better.

I'd like a General IQ of X or higher server. People need to answer basic questions that I've seen even some adults and a lot of teens on Facebook get wrong.
    Is the sun a star?
    What is (5+5)*(5+5)*2?
Did Queen or Justin Beiber first record "Somebody to Love"?

Stuff like that. If you get one question wrong, you do not have access. That would filter out the "less than mature" adults and keep the smart/mature kids.

Kinda why I simply asked "why?" the request is benign, at first leading you to think "well....zone chat".

However we have seen a few times people requesting skimpy female armor, murdering children and more gore as requests for "mature" content :/

Even if we are talking zone chat there is absolutely no guarantee its not an adult (term used loosely)...I've seen the same crud on FB ESO pages where you can see the profile pics and they aren't spring chickens ;)

So @j.frank.nicholsb14_ESO if its zone chat, well you can turn that off, ignore users, or use the report functions. If its the latter....well, I hear Skyrim lets you MOD the game right into the theme you may be after.

The questions you asked are not intelligence dependant but knowledge dependant. Intelligence =/= knowledge. Intelligence dependant question would be: "if you are you and I am me, who is dumb, you or me?" or "Theres a clump of lilies in the pond. It doubles every day. It takes lilies 48 days to cover the whole pond. How long will it take to cover the half?".

Well, since the answer is not 42, clearly this cannot be the Ultimate Question. Perhaps you could alter it somewhat so that it only takes the lilies 43 days to cover the whole pond?

I remember joining a guild in DDO which was 30+ and some of the bickering and behaviour was worse than a primary school playground. From my experience although there is a correlation between age and maturity, it’s not guaranteed. Personally I judge players(and people in general) on their actions rather than how long they happen to have been around.

In my opinion AGE has nothing to do with childish behaviour,

There are some Old/Older people in this game that act really childish,

Think this is a redundant post as age has nothing to do with maturity.

    1. I've met more than a few people over the age of 21 who make ten year old kids look intelligent and mature by comparison.
    2. Age verification doesn't work. It's real easy to click that "yes" button when prompted with "Are you over 18?" and any sort of verification beyond that is almost as easily circumvented. Not to mention it has a discouraging effect on people who are mature enough to be suspicious about handing over personal details. (So discouraged that they'll post all about it on Facebook right under the one discussing vacation details and favorite places to hide their valuables.)

I find it revealing that attributes like "mature" and "intelligent" are stressed as being the preferred qualities in fellow players, while attributes like "nice", "kind", or even "funny" haven't even been mentioned yet. And while they're certainly not mutually exclusive, I'd prefer the last ones over the first any day. ;)

I don't know why some people are so intent on fragmenting the population, but anyway. After seeing the "maturity" displayed by some 30+ year olds and my own rude behavior sometimes (usually here and not in the game, though), I'm not convinced an age gate would help. Besides, ESO population is already mostly in the age group you'd probably want. Looking at my guilds, I feel very young at 22.

How would you even enforce it? Demand ID scans on account creation? Everyone knows that a simple age gate isn't going to stop anyone.

Reminds me of the Leisure Suite Larry, in the Land of the lounge Lizards quiz you had to take before being allowed access to the game. I'm sure that a lot of younger adults from today would not get the references without using google or wikipedia. Lol I finished that game when I was only 7, before the internet reached our shores.

I kind of like this idea, but it doesn't go far enough. ZoS should make an extra server just for me. It would be way cooler than the other servers, the quests would be extra cooler without all those other people, and the delves would be extra delvier just because they're on my server.

Of course, I'll have to pay for the server, so I'll have to let a few people in, but only by my personal invite. And they have to be totally kewl, otherwise they can't get in.

The server will need a name. Maybe I could call it... Cartmanland
